GOP plans shooting match with Perdue prizes

State Senate Republicans are planning a shooting competition fundraiser with prizes being Perdue brand turkeys – get it?

“It was a natural choice,” GOP spokesman Rob Lockwood told the Associated Press today, referring to the bird brand that shares its name with the governor.

The Republican Senate caucus will hold the “Caucus Clay Shoot” on Nov. 10 at Deep River Sporting Clays and Shooting School in Sanford. It’ll cost $1,000 to shoot, but that includes a barbecue lunch.
