Gearino: Change ticket

Dan Gearino says North Carolina will go for the change ticket.

The conservative blogger and former N&O columnist writes Dome that the state will continue to be a "paradox" but in a different direction.

The state will "go for Obama, send Kay Hagan to Washington — and put Pat McCrory in Raleigh," he writes.

Re: Gearino: Change ticket

Pickingperdue: When Pat McCrory wins tomorrow, you get to keep on with your nitpickin' ways! Just think on the bright side.

Re: Is this reverse psychology?

I can't imagine how anything I say could reflect on McCrory, as I'm not out here shilling for him like a badly programmed campaign automaton. I have merely remarked a few times that I planned to and now have voted for him, my first time in 30+ years of voting that I voted for a Republican for anything. I have not invested so much of myself in him as to require a special screen name to display my fanboi status, I don't even have a freaking bumper sticker.

Nor do I actually blame Beverly for you - unless you are being paid by the campaign to wreak this nonsense, your work reveals only your own personal character and capabilities, neither of which are anything to write home about.

I'm pretty sure you're not a Republican, either, while I am a genuine, committee-sitting, convention-attending, Clinton-handshaking and inaugural-reveling (in DC and Raleigh) member of the Democratic Party, who is disgusted by the behavior of the state-level elected Democrats in the past few years. Just as I believe Obama offers change we need at the national level, I believe McCrory offers a change from them that we desperately need in Raleigh.

Re: Gearino: Change ticket

Wishing all of you McCrory fans the best in the next 8 years of Perdue's reign as governor.
No hard feelings; just hard facts. Perdue has been ahead in the polls for the last 4 weeks, and no Democratic candidate could have done any better than Bev (a win is a win, after all) with RGA's negative attacks.

we will see, picking, we will see

It may be a long day and night for you tomorrow - a sense of humor might do you some good, picking.

Re: Gearino: Change ticket

Any good Democratic candidate, i.e. Richard Moore, could have easily rode Obama and Hagan's coattails to victory in a state that usually puts Democrats in Raleigh, Perdue simply cannot. Unaffiliated voters account for nearly 20% of NC voters now, and I predict that McCrory wins 80% of the unaffiliated voters and sways a decent percentage of Democrats as well.

Re:McCrory is Gone With the Wind by PerdueWinsGovernor

I hate to tell you this when you tried so hard in your novella, but Margaret Mitchell has already written Gone With the Wind. Perhaps you should read it, as Scarlett Perdue will say to Rhett McCrory tomorrow, "As God is my witness, I shall never leave Raleigh or the Governor's Mansion" hope the mayor enjoys his extended stay in Charlotte.

Re: Is this reverse psychology?

Picking,

I think you will find that a Governor McCrory will unify this state. No more will there be east-west divide. Governor Pat will fuse us together, making North Carolina a world leader with the highest standard of living we have ever known. North Carolina will once again become a bulwark of freedom, a bastion of equality among men, the envy of all states. Our state, picking, our state.

Under Governor McCrory’s leadership North Carolina will be like a phoenix, rising from the ashes of despair, soaring high above the stormy clouds that have long darkened the integrity of our state government. Governor Pat will be like one of those great English explorers who sailed un-chartered waters to bring forth a new state, a state of open government which holds inviolate the rights of every citizen. Governor McCrory will be a pathfinder, blazing a trail of hope, growth and opportunity. I can see him now, picking, placing his majestic cape below your feet so that you may walk smoothly over the rough spots in the road, the road of life, my dear picking……smoothed for your by our beloved Governor Pat.

He will reach out to those who did not support him and will offer the olive branch of peace and reconciliation. And then you will know, picking, that you have found a home, found a home where you had thought there was no place. Governor Pat will embrace you and you will feel the warmth of his love for all North Carolinians. Your eyes will be opened to a new glory, a new awareness, from darkness you shall come running to the light, dear picking, running to the light of unity, that lighthouse standing alone to beckon weary travelers to home, to safety, to North Carolina.

Governor Pat knows the road will be long. He knows the road will be hard. But his steadfast commitment to good government will prevail over the forces that have divided this great state. You will be crying with joy as you plead, “O Governor Pat, how could I have not known? How could I have doubted?” He will only smile and say, “It’s all right, dear picking. We are one now. Let us go forward, arm in arm, to build a new North Carolina, a North Carolina where every man feels worthy, free to stand tall, free to hold communion with true and upright men.” Picking, look for it. It’s there, Picking, reach for it, grasp it. You are almost there, dear picking.

Picking, I long for you to see the coming of this new era, an era unknown in our glorious history, an era of mutual trust and understanding. Picking, you will be renewed. You will be honor bound to devote yourself to our new state, once again shouting to the heavens as the sun begins to burn again…..brighter than ever before………. “I’m home, Governor Pat. I‘m home!”

Re: Is this reverse psychology?

As a self-proclaimed Republican for Bev, I would like to point out that your "annoying little nerd/obnoxious, rude, shrill, whiny, snot" (that's mature) comments speak nothing about me or Perdue but volumes about you and Pat.
You should be disappointed in yourself, as well as in Dan Gearino's inaccurate and biased prediction.

Is this reverse psychology?

As a self-proclaimed Democrat for Pat, I would like to point out that PickingPerdue's posts over the past couple of weeks have been so shrill, frequently uninformed, obnoxious and rude - both to other posters and to the candidate himself - that if I hadn't already voted for Pat, it would have cemented the decision, and if I had already voted for Perdue, would have made me regret it. So I'm thinking this annoying little nerd is really a plant by the McCrory campaign, to convince those who may not already have voted that Beverly's supporters are a bunch of whiny, supercilious snots. Brilliant strategy, folks!!!

I was kind of disappointed when Dan Gearino announced himself a conservative, as I think he's smarter and kinder than that, but I announced a couple of weeks ago my own belief in exactly the outcome he projects, so I think he's pretty brilliant, too. ;-]

Re: Gearino: Change ticket

What's hilarious is you and Concerned 53 (I'd think you were Pat himself, but he never would have been accepted into NC State) so desperately trying to promote your whiny little frat boy repeatedly - grasping at any crumb thrown Pat's way.
Sure, it's another poll showing Perdue is ahead. Let's don't split hairs here; none of the polls have shown McCrory ahead for 4 weeks; so I'd like to thank you for your coming out, as well!

Re: Gearino: Change ticket

Wow...you are hilarious. I actually heard Bev tell the same lie on the news last night. Could you please do us all a favor and explain to us what this is: http://www.publicpolicypolling.com/pdf/PPP_Release_NC_1103173.pdf

Thanks for comin out

Perdue leads in Gubenatorial Race

Notice he is a Conservative blogger; all bipartisan polls in the last 4 weeks show Perdue ahead by over 5 points! Go Perdue!!
