Four in Congress pledge to keep kosher

Four North Carolina Republicans have sworn off federal earmarks.

Sen. Richard Burr and Reps. Patrick McHenry, Virginia Foxx and Walter Jones agreed not to ask for specific spending projects in federal bills when contacted by the conservative Club for Growth.

They are among six senators and 17 representatives who pledged to "swear off pork," in the words of the Club for Growth.

All four agreed to a similar pledge in 2008.

Re: Four in Congress pledge to lose re-election

Gosh, that seems real smart. A trillion dollar pork barrel stimulus just passed (according to them) and the four most vulnerable Republicans in the newly Blue state of NC swore off North Carolinian voters getting their share?

That'll play real well with the actual voters suffering here.

North Carolina Republicans are increasingly becoming a bad plot line written by the Colbert Report's creative staff. You can't make this stuff up.

You just can't.
