Rep. Dale Folwell says Rep. Thomas Wright should resign.
The Winston-Salem Republican, who is running for state treasurer, told Dome this morning that he thinks the Wilmington Democrat should step down.
He said that for Wright to remain in office after being indicted on fraud charges would hurt the institution's credibility.
"People have to have confidence in what we're doing," he said.
He added that there are "two tragedies" in the Wright case.
"The first tragedy is what happened and the second tragedy is what it does to the public's confidence in government," he said.
