Final crowd estimate: 25,000

The final crowd estimate for a Barack Obama rally in Raleigh today: 25,000.

That's according to Capt. Everett Clendenin of the State Highway Patrol.

Update: Raleigh Police seconded that estimate and added that another 1,000 people were turned away from the event.

Re: Final crowd estimate: 25,000

i could see the line to get in from my office bldg window in downtown, it was still longer than i could see the end of when obama started speaking.

Campaign signs.

There was a big spread about the signs at yesterday's McCain rally. But so far no listing of Obama's signs.

I did see one man who had a sign that read, “I don’t want change.”

I asked him what he was doing at the rally if he was not an Obama supporter. But he quickly said, “Oh, I’m for Obama. But I don’t want change. I want bills. When Obama starts redistributing your wealth to me I don’t want anything less that $20 bills. I don’t want chump change. I’d prefer hundreds but will take anything over a twenty. But let me ask you something……will I have to pay tax on what the government takes from you to give to me? Will you have to pay tax on what they take from you to give to me? I have never paid taxes in my life and don’t want to start now. What kind of America would that be? I believe in taking but not giving. Isn’t that what this election is all about? Anyway, I gotta run. How about let me hold a couple of bucks. They pull the Powerball number tonight and Obama hasn’t started handing out any of that redistribution money yet. Just a couple of bucks. See you around, buddy.”

Change we can believe in………but bills spend better!
