Ervin still leads, but N.C. Supreme Court race tightens

Democrat Sam Ervin IV leads Republican Paul Newby in the much watched N.C. Supreme Court race by a 39-35 percent margin, according to a new poll.

But with a week to go, there are still 26 percent of the voters undecided in the officially non partisan race. But the election has attracted big bucks because the election will effect the balance of the court and could effect redistricting.

The survey by Public Policy Polling, a Democratic leaning firm based in Raleigh, seruved 730 voters from oct. 29 to 31st. The margin of error was 3.6 percent.

If PPP is simply "Democrat-leaning" then Robbie and his N&O-cohort Johnny Frank are turning Democrat somersaults.
