Rep. Renee Ellmers, R-N.C., this morning joined House Speaker John Boehner to again call on senators to return to Washington to negotiate a payroll tax extension. McClatchy’s Lesley Clark points out that both North Carolina senators, including fellow Republican Sen. Richard Burr, voted for the two-month extension that House Republicans have called irresponsible. House Republicans are seeking a year-long extension.
"I want to ask those senators why would you vote for such a short term solution," Ellmers said. "So you could go home for the holidays?"

Ellmers is a both a partisan self-absorbed jerk and incompetent
December 22, 2011 - 7:43pm — whoodathunkHouse GOP radicals (members of the fake Tea Party) got elected lying about even modest health care reforms, after they did everything to block meaningful reform that Americans have deserved for decades. Then they block every meaningful government spending, taxation and investment policy to help spur economic growth -- except for their most favorite policy of cutting taxes for the richest Americans who for the last 10 years have enjoyed the lowest tax rates in almost 100 years, while producing almost no net job growth and zero income growth. Then they play some stupid game of chicken with the nation's credit rating in a display of incompetence and partisan selfishness, resulting in the U.S. credit downgrade after they almost forced a U.S. default on its legitimate debts by playing thugs and punks. All the while they complain about "uncertainty" and fake regulatory burdens which simply don't exist, while blocking Wall Street/Banking reforms for their wealthy overlords. BUT THEY'RE OK WITH GIVING MIDDLE-CLASS WORKING AMERICANS A TAX INCREASE AS A CHRISTMAS PRESENT WHILE THROWING UNEMPLOYED AMERICANS ONTO THE STREETS. Shameful self-absorbed, lying partisan jerks like Elmers and the GOP congressmen in her 2010 "class" need to be thrown out of office. If she had any sense of decency and respect for the voters in her district she'd resign immediately as a liar and failure.
ELLMERS IS WRONG
December 22, 2011 - 2:42pm — interested860The tea party nuts (like Ellmers) are the problem.
Only 10 republican senators voted against it. She and her teabaggers are the ones to blame!
