Edwards' ex appears at courthouse

Rielle Hunter, former girlfriend of John Edwards, arrived at the federal courthouse in Raleigh this morning, where a grand jury is meeting.

Hunter was carrying her daughter, Frances Quinn Hunter, who was born Feb. 27, 2008. Edwards later confirmed that he had an affair with Rielle Hunter in 2006, but he has denied being the father of the girl.

Hunter was escorted into the courthouse by two federal agents.

Grand jury proceedings are secret, and the U.S. Attorney's Office in Raleigh has declined to confirm or deny an investigation.
