Edwards: '48 states to go'

John Edwards said the race isn't over.

Taking the stage at a textile mill in Manchester, the Democratic presidential hopeful congratulated Sens. Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton on their wins, but he said there are other primaries.

"Two races down," he said. "Forty-eight states to go."

The former North Carolina senator stressed that the Iowa caucuses and New Hampshire primary are not representative of the entire U.S. population.

"Up until now about half of one percent of Americans have voted," he said, noting those who haven't voted yet. "Those 99 percent deserve to have their voices heard. We have had too much in America of people's voices not being heard."

He repeated two stump-speech anecdotes about people without health care insurance and a line about veterans sleeping under bridges.

With James Denton over his shoulder, Edwards also gave a shout-out to labor unions, whose support he is counting on in the upcoming Nevada caucuses.
