Easley names temps for correx, juv justice

Gov. Mike Easley has picked two deputies to replace retiring department heads until permanent successors are picked. Tracy Little will be acting secretary of the Department of Correction to replace retiring Secretary Theodis Beck.

Easley named Joanne McDaniel acting secretary of the Department of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention to replace retiring Secretary George Sweat.

Little was deputy secretary in the correction department, according to a news release. McDaniel was chief of staff in her department. The two will lead their agencies until Gov.-elect Beverly Perdue can install a replacement.

James03, this is such nonsense...Little and McDaniel are dedicated career civil servants -- the very opposite of political "cronies" that you are trying to make them out to be. They are simply being asked mind the store for a couple of weeks until the new cabinet members are named. Give them a break. A transparently uninformed post.

beverly perdue needs to act quickly a replace these cronies of easley....or it will be more of the same type of crap we have endured for the past 8 years......get rid of everything and everyone that was under easley and dont let them back in state government in any shape form or fashion...
