GOP candidate gubernatorial candidate Pat McCrory was putting on his best yes sir, no sir manners when he met – or thought he met - famous North Carolina actor Andy Griffith Tuesday.
“It's a real honor sir,'' McCrory shaking his hands after speaking to the National Federation of Independent Business.

McCrory noted that he met Griffith 20 years earlier. Griffith said he really liked McCrory's TV about how people in the state needed to work together. McCrory said maybe they could get together some time in the future. (In 2008, Griffith, a Democrat, made commercial for Democrat Bev Perdue. But who knows?)
McCrory walked away, when someone whispered in his ear, that “Griffith' was actually Art “Almost Andy” Fettig (“close enough for most''), an Andy Griffith impersonator from Hillsborough who performed before McCrory spoke at the event.
A grinning McCrory pointed to this reporter as he left, said, “Rob, just let them know you were fooled too.''

June 13, 2012 - 6:20am — cooldelaOpie: Pa, it says here that Mr. Pat got fooled by an Andy impersonator.
Pa: Yeah, that’s what I hear.
Opie: Pa, what’s an impersonator?
Pa: That’s somebody who takes off on other people. Like when Goober takes off on Cary Grant and keeps saying, “Judy, Judy, Judy.” Or when he limps around like Gunsmoke’s Chester.
Opie: Who is Mr. Pat running against?
Pa: Lt. Dalton.
Opie: What does he do?
Pa: He’s a Bev impersonator.
Do you really
