U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole's fourth TV ad in the Senate race attacks Democratic rival Kay Hagan as a "fibber."
Until you can PROVE that not a single person has said it at a Dole stop, its going to be awfully hard to call her a liar. What Hagan has said have been "fibs" to use her term.
I love how you all seem to KNOW you're right, that it has NEVER been used before.
But no matter where you stand, fighting Dole on this can only HELP her, as it will rally GOPers behind her and the new nickname
This ad is full of lies, where is Ryan's vaunted truth patrol? Seems like it can't be put up fast enough - in a separate post - when it is a Democratic ad.
Kay Hagan really should pay me for defending her. I do it better than she does sometimes...
NCSBoy: Dole's obviously up for you doing that too. Too bad the name and its implication is a lie in and of itself. Maybe we should call the Senator eLIEzabeth...
So you don't care if Dole is lying about Hagan.
I do not care if she is called it or not: if she's lying , she's LYING. I'm up for us to START calling her Fibber Kay.
My guess is that the reason why no one here has heard it because everyone posting probably works for Kay Hagen and have not heard it said on Dole's stops. This isn't too hard to figure out, folks.
Most Admired Women 2007 Gallup
18% Hillary Clinton
16% Oprah Winfrey
5% Condoleeza Rice
3% Angelina Jolie
3% Laura Bush
2% Margaret Thatcher
2% Benazir Bhutto
1% Nancy Pelosi
1% Maya Angelou
1% Queen Elizabeth II
The last time Dole made that list was 2005:
13% Hillary Clinton
12% Oprah Winfrey
10% Condoleeza Rice
4% Laura Bush
3% Margaret Thatcher
1% Angelina Jolie
1% Maya Angelou
1% Martha Stewart
1% Elizabeth Dole
1% Sandra Day O'Connor
1% Barbara Walters
She dropped off the list in 2006 about the time that North Carolinians figured that a Republican controlled Congress was not all that it was cracked up to be.
Hagan refuses to answer several critical questions, like 'how much money have you saved the taxpayers of your district while 'serving' in the NC senate, Ms Hagan' duh, she has no answer.
plus she's a corrupt NC democrackkk, which is FIB enough!
I've never heard Hagan called that, either.
The ad claims that Kay's a fibber. When has she lied? Isn't Dole 93rd in effectiveness? Didn't she vote with Bush 92% of the time?
This ad proves that Dole is a liar. She claimed that she would run a positive campaign, but here she is, airing the first negative ad.
Just so we're clear, no one calls her "fibber Kay."
A quick google search for the phrase reveals 10 hits and all of them reference this very ad. There's no attribution in the ad. So, is the allegation of namecalling in itself a "fib"?

Seriously, Elizabeth Dole has now stooped to name calling and comparing a US senate candidate to a yapping dog? This is ridiculous and offensive. The people of North Carolina deserve better than this garbage. At least negative stuff in the ad from the DSCC was subtle and creative.
This ad is just dumb.
As an aside, if I was going to compare Senator Dole to any animal, it would have to be the Giant Squid, because no one's ever seen her except in clips on TV.
Re: Dole's 'Fibber' ad on Hagan
What a terrible ad.
