Dole named one of 'Dirty Dozen'

The League of Conservation Voters named U.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole to its "Dirty Dozen."

The advocacy group tracks members of Congress on its scorecard of votes on environmental issues, but it periodically issues a list of what it considers the 12 worst.

"Senator Dole's record proves that she's working in the best interests of Exxon-Mobil, not the people of Raleigh-Durham," said political director Tony Massaro in a statement.

The group has given Dole a lifetime rating of four percent on its environmental scorecard for votes against incentives for renewable energy and for tax breaks for oil companies.

In 2006, the League of Conservation Voters named then U.S. Rep. Charles Taylor to the "Dirty Dozen" and spent money advertising against him. Taylor lost the election.

Massaro would not say if the league will spend money on Dole's race.

"lead us down into the depression"

are you referring to what is happening right now, or are you just spouting off more of those uniformed talking points?

Re: Does it matter if they can name the Council of State?

It is obviously a left wing group that is not interested in true conservation. Otherwise it would have named Kay Hagan to the list for her ownership in numerous pollution creating oil rigs in the Midwest.Ryan did you see how many Green Party members it has endorsed? No, it is strictly going after Republican candidates, period. Why did you print this article at all? Look into the groups funding. Actual dig up the facts before you submit articles like this and others.

tell this person there is a rule about pouring money after bad. Obviously we have not learned that lesson in most of our school systems. But it does apply to most things.

Just a reminder to all who are not wanting a socialist system put in place in our great country. A Obama administration with 60 in the US Senate and a majority in the US House will lead us down into the depression a lot bigger than the Great Depression.

Does it matter if they can name the Council of State?

This is an organization that focuses on national elections, not who is or who isn't the State Auditor. I bet Mr. Massaro can name all 100 members of the Senate though.

Re: Raleigh-Durham

Also, they misspelled Raleigh on the Web site until I pointed it out. In their defense, Sir Walter never spelled his name that way either.

Re: Dole named one of 'Dirty Dozen'

That's kind of a high bar, don't you think? I mean, how many North Carolinians do you think could name all ten? About as many as can make it all the way to Ten Lords A-Leaping, I'd guess.

Re: Dole named one of 'Dirty Dozen'

If Massaro can name the ten members of the current council of state then I would actually his opinion and since is part of the "green' establishment in Colorado, then I do not care.

Raleigh-Durham

Those conservation people know us well.
