Dole loans campaign $3m

Facing a tough re-election fight, North Carolina Sen. Elizabeth Dole gave her campaign $3 million during the first week of October.

Dole reached into her purse at a time when she is locked in a competitive race with Democrat Kay Hagan.

"Our fundraising has been outstanding but, with outside liberal groups spending roughly $15 million in attack ads, Senator Dole believed she needed to put some skin in the game personally,” said Dan McLagan, a Dole spokesman. “This guarantees that we will be able to get our message out in the face of all that Washington and New York money being spent for Kay Hagan."

Dole has reported raising $13.8 million, while Hagan has raised $5.3 million. But that does not include the money raised and spent by outside groups.

Who started the negative attack ads Kay Hagan...Dole had to respond in order to defend herself and record, because of enormous amount of money being spent by the DSCC, whose leader has a personal vendetta against Dole.

Let's be unbiased...and you notice that no one refuted any allegations I made, yet decided to attack again....point proven idiots.

Yes the N&O is a fish wrapper...or better yet a great pooper scooper...talking about the actual product Beckwith...again you fall in line with the rest of the educated pandering masses on this blog...

Have you, perchance, noticed the basis of Dole's campaign against Hagan? NEGATIVE. Have you, perchance, noticed the basis of McCain's campaign against Obama? NEGATIVE, wouldn't you say? No?

I have been reading this blog for some time and it is only until recently that I have decided to post.

Dole putting $3 million dollars of her own campaign money into the face shows me that she truly cares about her seat and the state of North Carolina.

Senator Dole has a rockstar status and ran for President at one time, even recognized by this fishwrapper. What amazes me is that the Democrats on this message board are making a big deal about the fact that she has gotten a good amount of money from out of state, but it is fair to point out that the Democrats - liberal leaning posters on this board are truly hypocritical.

Obama has received an astonishing amount of money from outside of the country. They see nothing wrong with this, yet are quickly sounding the alarm when a US Senator is collecting money from the United States. If one is far, thus the other is fair.

Also, another contradiction. Chuck Schumer has pledged over $12 million to defeat Dole. Where do you think that money comes from?

I know where it comes from. It comes from all across the nation. The fact that Kay Hagan is sleeping in bed with Schumer and Reid in the US Senate to win this race is the scary facet.

Let's be serious...the National Democrats are buying this race.

At least, Dole cares enough to use her own money...how much has Hagan used of her own money?

If the liberals would stop trying to be so negative all the time and help America come up with practical solutions then we would be better off.

And yes Dole has split with her party far more frequently than Hagan...Again I have the facts to prove it and my facts are not based on a liberal blog either. (99% with the Raleigh establishment of Easley, Basnight and Rand).
