Dole endorses Pittenger

Robert PittengerU.S. Sen. Elizabeth Dole has endorsed Robert Pittenger.

The Salisbury Republican announced Monday that she is backing Pittenger, a state senator from Charlotte, in the primary for lieutenant governor.

"I met Robert Pittenger and his wife over 20 years ago," said Senator Dole.  "Robert is a long-time fighter for conservative values and is not afraid to take the tough stands.  He'll make a great Lieutenant Governor." 

Pittenger faces former Congressional candidate Greg Dority, industrial chemist Timothy Cook and former lieutenant governor candidate Jim Snyder in in the primary.

Well, I wonder when someone from Ron Paul's camp will send a letter to Mrs. Dole quoting the NCGOP's Plan of Organization explaining how this kind of thing is forbidden.

I know their sharp tone will persuade her to change her mind, don't you?
