DNC-backer Duke Energy gets hit by Democrats attacking McCrory

No company has been more supportive of the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte than Charlotte-based Duke Energy. And few people have been as supportive of the party as Duke Chairman Jim Rogers.

But this week a Democratic group rejected Duke’s request to pull a TV ad attacking Republican gubernatorial candidate Pat McCrory, a former Duke employee.

The ad questions his ethics while invoking ties to the utility. “We’re disappointed with the ad,” said company spokesman Tom Williams. “It seems to have a lot of innuendo.”

Duke

The NC Dems are like a child throwing a tantrum...doesn't matter who they offend, just out to discredit  McCrory as they visualize him as the threat to their 100 year reign in Raleigh. Duke is the sound backer of the convention, and yet they sling their imaginary swords in all directions no matter who gets in the way, as long as they can attempt to drag accusations  in McCrory's direction. Duke has to play both sides of the net, smartly. This may be likened to civilian casualties of war, hey, they got in the way and the Dems happened to hit them.  Actions of a childish nature, NC gubernatorial office is our toy and don' t you try to take it from us..we will pitch a fit. Underneath the crust of visual Democratic political activity in Raleigh are no doubt some obscured "family jewels" of corruption, and the effort to keep them hidden, the Dems are vicious in their attacks. No matter who gets in the way. i.e. Duke.We need to change the course of our state, and in order to do that, we must change the corrupt culture of politics we have had in Raleigh.

Dems bite the hand that feeds them

I wonder if the dems are smart enough to know that Duke is in the middle of a multi-billion dollar merger with Raleigh based Progress Energy and that these "innuendos" could negatively impact regulatory approval. Only two of the top employers in the state and Duke/Jim Rogers have been huge supporters of Bev and the DNC.  It wouldn't even surprise me if Obama slapped your hand for your lack of respect of a huge donor & DNC supporter as you had to go back to 1997 for bogus charges.

duke

The Democrat machine has nothing on McCrory, so they are blindly attacking in all directions. Even if it hurt one of there allies, it just shows what they are willing to do, to win. Maybe Duke and Mr Roger need to re-think who they throw money too.
