Debbie Wasserman Schultz, the chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee, was in Asheville Sunday meeting with volunteers for President Barack Obama.
She pumped up Obama, but also said that Republican candidate Mitt Romney would be bad for women saying he was was adopting the “the tea party extremist' policies of the GOP.
“They would drag us back to the failed policies of the past and take women to a time when we were not even considered on equal footing with men,” she said. “Mitt Romney would take us back to a time before I was born and shut the clock that much for women.''
UPDATE: Rachel Adams, Republican National Committee spokeswoman: "The concerns of women across the country are the same as every American who hs been left behind by President Obama's failed policies and broken promises. Middle-class Americans are struggling to find jobs, pay their mortgages, and send their children to college the president rewards his political cronies with taxpayer dollars. President Obama has proven time and time again his policies aren't working.''
