Democrats are launching a second attack on Pat McCrory, questioning his ethics and pledge to clean up Raleigh if elected governor.
The 30-second spot funded by the Democratic Governors Association focuses on McCrory's job at Duke Energy while he was Charlotte mayor. The main charge is his congressional testimony as mayor against a regulation that would have cost his company money. (Fact check needed ...)
It's the second spot to question McCrory's ethics and the first left out important details. McCrory threatened to sue to block the first ad from the airwaves -- but he has yet to file a legal complaint.
According to media buyers for Republicans, the ad costs $300,000 and will appear through June 10 in Greensboro, Greenville and Raleigh. The official sponsor behind the ad is N.C. Citizens for Progress, a 527 political group supported by Democrats.
The ad is competing with a softer, positive one being aired in the same markets by McCrory's campaign.

The bad news is that no one knows what Dalton has done for the past 15 years, much less the last 3 1/2.
