Dalton not interested in race

Walter DaltonLt. Gov. Walter Dalton is not in the running.

Political consultant Morgan Jackson, who advises Dalton, said that he is not seeking the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate in 2010, despite recent chatter.

"Dalton is focused on serving the people of North Carolina as lieutenant governor and helping the state navigate through these difficult economic times," he said. "He is currently not considering a bid for the U.S. Senate."

UPDATE: Dalton this morning added: "I'm working hard in my current position to get North Carolina back on top of the (economic) problems we're facing."

Re: Dalton not interested in race

While I'm all about the manufactured he said, she said nontroversy, any chance we can hear some more from the only two people to actually express interest in this race?

Lewis and Cunningham.
