Republican State Rep. Dale Folwell is getting some national attention for his effort make more information about bond issuances.
A blogger for Americans for Tax Reform calls Folwell's bill -- HB315 -- "a model for the nation." But the legislation didn't even make it out of its first House committee last session.
The post starts: "North Carolina has been in the media recently for all the wrong reasons, whether it be the state Democratic Party scandal or the John Edwards trial. It is time for the media and the public to talk about the right reasons that attention should be paid to the Tar Heel State, namely that the state is home to one of the most pro-taxpayer pieces of legislation ever crafted."
Folwell is running for the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor.
