Crisco on Perdue: 'She's a closer'

N.C. Commerce Secretary Keith Crisco and Gov. Bev Perdue heaped a little love on each other this morning.

At a Durham event to sign an economic partnership between North Carolina and China, Crisco told the audience that he can count on Perdue to "take any call, any meeting to bring new jobs to North Carolina."

"In baseball terms, she's a closer," Crisco told the group, which included more than 100 Chinese politicians and business leaders.

Then Perdue referred to Crisco and deputy Commerce Secretary Dale Carroll as the state's "powerful jobs building Commerce team."

Perdue apppointed Crisco, a Tar Heel native who is founder and president of Asheboro Elastics Corp., as her chief economic recruiter in Jan. 2009.

On Tuesday, Crisco didn't reserve all his praise for his boss and her willingness to woo business leaders. When he introduced Sen. Kay Hagan, he noted: "She's another closer. We use her, too."

Bev is closing with someone else's money

The general assembly should do an immediate audit of what bev is paying for the "1st rate" jobs that are apparently new or being kept in NC. My bet is that she is way overpaying with taxpayers money as this is the only way she can do something positive politically.

And ...

Crisco is not.

Taking calls?

Crisco's comments are hogwash.  Perdue will not even take calls from supporters.  Like the queen she thinks she is, she insulates herself with her yes men and if someone makes the mistake of telling her something she does not want to hear or heaven forbid, the truth, "its off with their head."

She Blew It

The Gov's comments about the Wake County School Board had to pierce the heart of business owners. How can one expect to woo business owners while suggesting that the school system is out of whack?
