I knew this girl Debbie Crane many years before, in 1988 when I was a freshman in East China Metallurgic Institute, she was a visiting teacher there. She is the very first foreign lady I had ever met, and we talked freely at her Office Time for many times although my English is poor. She call herself as a New Englander.
She worked very hard at that time and gives free lectures about American history and politics in every Thursday evening, I can remember she voted old Bush president. I still keep tapes of these lectures. To many of us China guy, She is America!!!
HA! This administration isn't about to see that emails are secured. Agencies have multiple ways of avoiding requests for email. One neat trick is to have employees move emails into "personal folders," which, once transferred are then regarded by the agency as being out of the realm of information requests. Reporters don't know to include in their requests that emails that have been transferred to "personal folders" be provided as well.
Another nice move, when the agency realizes it is under scrutiny, is to have legal counsel from the AG's office who has been assigned to said agency to send a "reminder" out to division chiefs, gently making certain points about emails that are preserved and how they constitute public records. No, they don't outright direct that emails be deleted, but everyone knows what is being suggested -- and it sure as hell isn't that the emails be kept.

There's no such thing as a deleted email.
