Dome usually doesn't promote political fundraisers. But hey, a local event includes an appearance by Ann Coulter, the in-your-face conservative.
And how many political flyers feature the photograph of the keynote speaker in a tight black cocktail dress?
Coulter is scheduled to appear Sunday night at the North Ridge County Club for the Wake County Republican Women's Club's "Politics, Pasta and Pink Slips (for Democrats)" dinner and silent auction, Rob Christensen reports.
The event cost $75 although sponsorships go as high as $2,500. Coulter is a frequent guest on TV and the author of such books as “If Democrats Had Any Brains, They'd be Republicans” and “How to Talk to a Liberal (If you Must)."
The event runs from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

September 15, 2010 - 1:54pm — kttechwriterI love Coulter. She says what's on her mind and doesn't put up with the PC crowd. Sure she occasionally offends but she's funny and she's a big draw. Bring it on. I can't wait to see her, again. I've seen her many times and she's always got something great to say. What's up her sleeve this time? It's gonna be tough to pay to hear her when I've heard her for free, but anything to help the cause. I'm a member of this group and sadly, I've not been active this year. Time to change that!!!

Will there be a public protest at the presence of this deeply prejudiced and hateful woman in Raleigh? I hope that her visit will be marred by protestors carrying signs demanding women's rights, gay rights and equal rights. Coulter describes herself thus, "I'm a Christian first and a mean-spirited, bigoted conservative second, and don't you ever forget it." Who on earth would pay money to be in the presence of that???
