Bill Clinton returns to North Carolina today.
The former president was last seen here standing in the back of a Ford pickup, wrapping up an 11-city barnstorm on behalf of his wife's campaign.
North Carolina turned out to be Hillary's Waterloo. Chastened by Barack Obama's primary wins, Clinton retracted his criticism and promoted Obama.
Now, he returns for a speech at N.C. State University's Millennium Seminar Series.
His address at Reynolds Coliseum today is titled "The Way Forward," and in it, he will "chart the course of America's future after the 2008 election and delve into the effects of new presidential leadership on the nation's important issues," N.C. State's Web site explains.
No tickets are available for the 10:30 a.m. speech, but it will be shown online here. (N&O)

Too bad they paid good money for him to be there. As most of us know and understand that for North Carolina and America to be what it is intended for the state and nation to be, all any has to do is look inward at the resources each has. Work with them,nurture them,and use them to train up the next generation as we the babby boomers sure did screw things up these last 30-40 years now didn't we ? I mean we're the generation who went from protesting the wrongs of our nation and state, but we were too busy turning on,dropping out...and believing the lies of those over 35 were telling us NOT to believe, then after college, we found that greed was good (Hurray for me and the heck with you) lifestyle, then a wee bit later on when all of that wasn't good enough,we adopted the biggest and greatest lie of all, the Burger king mentality. i can have it all, my way right away...instant pudding, and pop corn..add a dash of Instant gradification, because what our grand parents did and tried to teach us wasn't good or hip enough for us. And now look around our state and nation and what do you see ? Are we proud that we are leaving this mess we made to our grandchildren? Lord, I hope not! So who wants to go and rush out this morning and hear what the former president has to say ? And remind us what we already know, are really that dumb and stupid like sheep that we will follow anyone ? No wonder we the people can't get past all the lobbiests in Raleigh and Washington,DC. we set ourselves up to fail when we failed to love and repect ourselves, our friends, and our neighbors to do the right thing, by putting others first and ourselves last, or did your grandma a graduate of the bonnie & clyde school teach you diferently ?
