Butterfield campaigning for Obama

G.K. ButterfieldU.S. Rep. G.K. Butterfield is campaigning for Obama.

The only member of North Carolina’s congressional delegation to endorse Sen. Barack Obama over former Sen. John Edwards has been on the campaign trail in recent days in advance of Super Tuesday tomorrow.

The Wilson Democrat, was in South Carolina before the primary there last month. More recently, he has stumped in Memphis, St. Louis and Columbus, Ga., on Obama’s behalf. Butterfield likely will stay in Georgia through tomorrow, a spokesman said.

He isn't the only North Carolinian on the presidential trail. On the Republican side, Sen. Richard Burr has been out supporting Sen. John McCain's candidacy since Iowa.
