Board crucial to Black's downfall

The State Board of Elections played a key role in the downfall of former House Speaker Jim Black.

After the board got access to the Black campaign committee checks, the board exposed a scheme in which Black's fellow optometrists wrote campaign checks that left blank the date and who would receive them.

Black in turn would hand them to political allies, particularly Rep. Michael Decker, a Forsyth County Republican, who became a key figure in keeping Black in power.

The board turned up enough to convince Decker to plead guilty to accepting the campaign money as part of a $50,000 bribe. The hearings also put investigators onto the activities of a group of chiropractors.

Payments from three chiropractors to Black, which were made to ensure favorable legislation, led to a five-year federal prison term for Black.

Former Gov. Mike Easley's hearing is to be held in the same hotel where the board held Black's hearings.

The NC BoE Easley investigation is the equivalent to the Keystone Cops giving Easley a parking ticket while he’s driving a stolen car w/ the front, back seat, & trunk overloaded w/ dead bodies from toxic water.

Janet, Sorry I missed you when I dropped the Freedom of Information Request to Nick Bryne for details of all the investments of the NC State Employees Trust Fund and details of all the “Sewergate” General Statutes 162 Water and Sewer notices of mismanagement & misappropriations of Clean Water Trust Funds, like Bay River & Western Bay River Sewer.

You seem to be focusing only on going forward with what is left of the NC State Employee’s Trust Fund rather than concentrating on the over 20 missing $20 billion dollars. Waterfront Sportsman Wall Street & Finance Expert estimates the NC State Employee Trust Fund to now less than $40 billion.

Your staff seemed to be having a hard time finding the docs. As soon as you give them up, WFS will let you know where the missing 20 billion went.
