Bill Clinton records robo-call against marriage amendment

Former President Bill Clinton might be calling you.

Opponents of the marriage amendment on Tuesday's ballot today announced that Clinton has  recorded a robo-call message that will be going to North Carolinians.

Here's what he says:

"Hello, this is President Bill Clinton.  I’m calling to urge you to vote against Amendment One on Tuesday May 8.  If it passes, it won’t change North Carolina’s law on marriage.  What it will change is North Carolina’s ability to keep good businesses, attract new jobs, and attract and keep talented entrepreneurs.  If it passes, your ability to keep those businesses, get those jobs, and get those talented entrepreneurs will be weakened.  And losing even one job to Amendment One is too big of a risk.  Its passage will also take away health insurance from children and could even take away domestic violence protections from women.  So the real effect of the law is not to keep the traditional definition of marriage, you’ve already done that.  The real effect of the law will be to hurt families and drive away jobs.  North Carolina can do better.  Again, this is Bill Clinton asking you to please vote against Amendment One.  Thanks."
Protect All NC Families, the group organizing the campaign against the amendment, told The Associated Press that the calls would go to hundreds of thousands of people.

I agree completely.  Clinton is a joke along with most of his far left croonies.  I will vote for whomever in the next election so I want have to look at the pious hypocrite we have put in the White House in 2008.

North Carolina's phone conversation about gay marriage.

The Democrats will go to all measures, just like their radical predecessors did.  Mr. Clinton there is no prove what so ever that says that same sex marriages enhances business.  As matter in fact the truth states that have banned same sex marriage they have led our country in business, North Carolina being one.  Texas?  The ones that have same sex marriage are very far behind.  What is wrong with you?  Why lie about this?  Obviously, you and your far left friends want to, as your leader says, "change" it all.  This talk is a direct slap in the face of Christianity, what our country was founded on.  Is this a page out of Robespierre and the French Revolution?

I wasn't sure about which way to vote on the amendment until I got the robo-call from "Sleazebag" Clinton. Once he told me I should vote against the passage, I knew for sure that I should vote for it. ANYTHING he is against,I would find it very difficult not to be for . I don't trust him  to tell the truth about anything!

Wake up America, we are losing to Cultural Marxism

All Americans need to do their homework before voting for or against something however, most will not. This brings us to Political Correctness which is Cultural Marxism. Go online and research Communist Goals - 1963 Congressional record and read the 45 goals that must be attained before we are turned into a Communist nation. Read #26 which states: Present homosexuality, degeneracy and promiscuity as "normal, natural, healthy." Read all of the 45 goals and ask yourself which ones you agree with and which ones do you not.

Finally, look up Political Correctness which is Culturial Marxism. You can find a lot of information on this by going to YouTube and view the short videos on Cultural Marxism however, here is a video that goes deeper and longer into what it is all about. Watch CULTURAL MARXISM, The Corruption of America. As you view this you will understand the pat Pres. Obama, Democrats' and RINOs are taking us.....a path to destruction. Pres. Clinton , Pres. Bush moved us closer however, Obama has us in overdrive!

You know that the Gay Marriage foes are desperate when they recruit one of the biggest political liars that have ever been in politics in Bill Clinton. Not only Liar, but womanizer, and opinionated POS. Drag $100 thru a trailer park and see what kind of thrash you pick up. I did not have sex with that woman. The prior blogger that describes the pathological Liar was right on. Then on top of everything else, they blow so much smoke up your Butt about why you should vote NO, I am surprised we don’t choke to death from the abundance of it. I am a Democrat and have been since 1974, But what this party has done to this nation over the last number of years, and the lies and BS they come up with to sway your vote, Has me leaning toward actually changing my party affiliation to GOP because of it, with the votes going with the GOP.

your essay

Brilliant! Can you please rewrite it with the correction? I would love to steal it and plaster it all over FB..

I would also love to restate it in segments.., since it is concise. Kudos!

Cost of Robo-Calls

At least Clinton did this pro bono.

Just how can a vote for the marriage amendment, cause any problems?   Because Clinton says so?  Or the liberals of this state say so. Marriage between a man and a woman is only normal and two men or two women is not ,thats only common sense and everyone knows it.  (only been centuries)   Lets keep the common sense and get rid of these stupid arguments of why we should or should not vote for or against it.  None of them really are valid anyway.   No one will lose or gain any rights or jobs ,health insurance, children are not going to suffer ETC.

Bill Clinton as a Spokesperson!!!

That automatically tells me which way to vote!!!  Anything for a vote or a dollar, right Bill?

Top 10 absurdities related to Amendment 1 (I.E. Why it's important to vote NO on Tuesday*):

1. WE DON'T LIVE IN A THEOCRACY. If the strongest argument for the amendment is that Jesus doesn't like gay marriage, that's not much of an argument. It's a moot point.

2. Speaking of Jesus, he never mentioned gay marriage. He does however say specifically that divorce
equals adultry. And, gee, don't both adultry and divorce denigrate the concept of marriage? But no one's proposing any amendments dealing with either of those issues. Also, see 1.

3. Similar "what would Jesus do?" arguments were used as a justification for segregation and for prohibiting interracial marriage. And most would agree now that this thinking was backward, ignorant and ridiculous. It won't be long before this current uproar will be seem for what it is-- backward, ignorant
and ridiculous. Also, see 1 (again).

4. This amendement was a top priority of a conservative General Assembly that supposedly pushes for limited government. How exactly is involving itself in the marriage decisions of individual citizens limiting its reach?

5. Is this really an issue worthy of so much attention and an AMENDMENT TO OUR STATE CONSTITUTION? Shouldn't our legislators be focused on the economy? On education? On health care? Aren't these issues more important in the lives of most individuals than whom their neighbors choose to marry?

6. How is gay marriage harmful? Just because the idea of two guys making out makes your tummy hurt, doesn't mean you've been "harmed". (Under this proposed definition the marriage of transexuals would be fine--just so long as all the important parts line up when they say "I do". So, if the idea of gay marriage bothers you, I hope the idea of transexual marriage doesn't offend you.) This preoccupation with others' sexuality should embarrass an 8th grader, let alone a voting adult.

7. If you are for this amendment, you are intolerant. If you think you have the right to make decisions for a minority because they are different, you are intolerant of their rights. So stop saying "I'm for the amendment, but I'm not intolerant." You are. And if you don't vote against it, you are complicit. And this IS a civil rights issue. Just because you don't agree with it, doesn't make it not a civil rights issue. Members of a minority are being told what they can and can't do with their individual rights. (P.S., voting against the amendment won't make you gay.)

8. Perhaps more scary than absurd is the implication that the purpose of this amendment is to encourage propogation. So, what's next? An amendment banning the infertile from marrying? One prohibiting the marriage of those who choose not to have (or have enough) children? That may sound like a reach, but when the wife of the Senator who sponsored the amendment reportedly told poll workers that the "The reason my husband wrote Amendment 1 was because the Caucasian race is diminishing and we need to uh, reproduce.", you have to wonder how far this intrusion in the lives of individuals will go?

9. If marriage is about the commitment of two individuals to each other, how is banning a group from participating in that institution "protecting" it? That is, homosexuality itself can't be banned. So, if two people of the same gender want to commit to each other, how does an amendment preventing that formal committment "protect" marriage? It does the opposite; it essentially forces gay couples to "shack up" as my granddaddy would say. There's no alternative.

10. If we decide as a state that it's okay for a majority to decide what this minority can do with their individual lives, why stop there? Why not ban marriage/propogation by those with handicaps or low IQs? Or limit the family size of those not of the "right" social class or race? Sound familiar? Didn't we go to war against such a regime? Isn't that why we're in a position to promote democracy around the world? Because we have it all figured out (except, I guess, when it comes to our own citizens)?

Apparently he has something

Apparently he has something to do with it. He wasn't chosen at random was he? Those in charge thought it would be a good thing for Clinton to make this call.  I'm not for the amendment and I can't see how anyone in their right mind thought he would be a good choice here. Can you explain it?

Billy Graham Said Jews Contribute to Moral Decline

The Log Cabin Republicans of North Carolina have listed this:

'In 2002, declassified tapes revealed remarks made by Graham to President Richard M. Nixon. Graham openly voiced his belief that Jews control the American media, calling it a “stranglehold” during a 1972 conversation with Nixon. “This stranglehold has got to be broken or the country’s going down the drain,” said Graham, agreeing with Nixon’s comments about Jews and their influence in American life. Later, Graham mentions that he has friends in the media who are Jewish, saying they “swarm around me and are friendly to me.” But, he confides to Nixon, “They don’t know how I really feel about what they’re doing to this country” (taken from on their Web site.

The Rev. Billy Graham has also voiced praise of Sen. Joe McCarthy.

The Log Cabin Republicans end their posting with: What will be amendment 2?

WOW! How desperate has the far left nationally become? Here's your answer. They are in panic mode. Can't wait to read the N&O the day after Amendment One passes. They hate the fact that the will of the people prevails and not thier narrow-minded ideology.

BTW... isn't President Bill the molester the one who signed the Defense of Marriage Act that currently protects marriage in NC into law in the first place!

Clinton has nothing to do with it...

If 51% of the population were gay and voted it to be unconstititutional for heterosexuals to wed would that make things right? Moral? Legal?

This is supposed to turn the tide?

The polls I've seen show that there is great likelyhood that this amendment will pass. So if your losing this battle, Bill Clinton is the best you can do? They must have given up on winning.

Perhaps the reason Bill

Perhaps the reason Bill Clinton supports homosexual because he hopes to one day be legally married to Hillary.

You can tell ...

The day Bill Clinton said, "I didn't have sex with THAT woman!" was very telling. I could tell by the way he emphasized "that" and his depersonalization of Lewinsky that he was lying through his teeth.

I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him with any message in this Country.

Hilarious .....

What better way for those who oppose the marriage amendment to make a statement than to have Bill Clinton in their corner.

He wouldn't know what marriage is if it hit him in the face .......

And, it is obvious Bill Clinton would redefine it since his excursions from it are numerous and well-documented.

His message is a total fabrication of the truth ..... just as he lied and lied about Monica Lewinsky. If anyone has been bad for women and the truth, it has been Bill Clinton.

Bill Clinton endorsement - a plus or minus

If that call comes to my phone I will be voting contrary to Mr. Bill...the cheating  liar.

Where would we be without them

I always rely on the Clintons as my moral compass. are correct in are correct in what you said. I wrote my post incorrectly and will change it. What I meant to say is that "no woman will be harmed or more likely to be harmed due to this amendment." Amendment defeatists are claiming this amendemt will somehow reduce the protections offered by such restraining orders. That is simply not true. The restraining orders in North Carolina make no mention of, nor are they dependent upon a Civil Union, Common Law Marriage or Domestic Partnership because no such entity exists now in our state. None. The laws are written to protect victims before, during or after a separation or change of address regardless or relationship status. None of this will be affected by the new Amendment. Now if a lawbreaker chooses to ignore the order, they will do so in any case, but this amendment does not make it easier for them in any way.

Worst person they could have picked do this

The first thing Clinton did when he became prez was to go back on his promise to end the ban on gays in the military. After that it only took another 19 years.

"No woman will be beaten or abused by someone who has a restraining order."

Archiebunkerx:  Are you really that delusional???  Women are routinely beaten and abused, IN SPITE OF their attackers' restraining orders.

You are correct...what Bill

<iframe width="420" height="315" src="" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

You are correct...what Bill

You are correct...what Bill Clinton is implying is not truthful. Of course, this should be no surprise to anyone, afterall, Bill Clinton is famous for standing up before the American people and lying to their faces on national TV.

On May 9th, we will all wake

On May 9th, we will all wake up to a world which is exactly the same as it was when we woke up this morning. Nobody's life will be different. According to current North Carolina law, ONLY marriages between a man and a woman are legally recognized. That is how things are now. Currently there is no such legal entity as a Civil Union in North Carolina. Nor is there any such legal entity as a Common Law Marriage or a Domestic Partnership. These legal relationships are NON-existent in North Carolina. Nobody has any such legal contract in North Carolina and the passage of this amendment will not strip anyone of such because such a thing does not exist. So why then do homosexual advocates keep implying that passage of this amendment will affect heterosexual people in civil unions? Thats just not true. There is no such thing.   ---   On May 9th, we will all wake up to a world which is exactly the same as it was when we woke up this morning. Nobody will be fired. Nobody will lose a job. Businesses will still move here and stay here. Employees will still want to move here and work here. North Carolina will still be a wonderful place to be. Thirtyone other states have passed such laws. The people in those states are doing fine and we will do fine also. According to Forbes magazine, 8 of the top 10 states for doing business have such laws already. According to CNBC, 7 of the top 10 states for doing business have these laws already. So, both Liberal and Conservative sources agree. And, 7 of the 10 states with lowest unemployment have such laws.   ---   On May 9th, we will all wake up to a world which is exactly the same as it was when we woke up this morning. No child will lose their health insurance because of this amendment. Employers and health insurers are not required by NC law to provide benefits to anyone. They do so because the choose to do so because they want to do so. Duke University and Bank of America have even said so and said they will continue to provide such benefits even if this amendment passes. Why? Because they, like every other employer, will continue to want to do so and this law does not affect them at all. Not at all. And since there is no such things in North Carolina as Civil Unions, Common Law Marriages or Domestic Partnerships, the suggestion that people will lose these benefits because these relationships will not be recognized, is a bogus one, because they don't even exist now.   ---   On May 9th, we will all wake up to a world which is exactly the same as it was when we woke up this morning. No woman will be beaten or abused by someone who has a restraining order. The retraining orders in North Carolina make no mention of, nor are they dependent upon a Civil Union, Common Law Marriage or Domestic Partnership because no such entity exists now in our state. None. The laws are written to protect victims before, during or after a separation or change of address regardless or relationship status. None of this will be affected by the new Amendment. And judges are not going to allow perversions which would endanger anyone. The fact is, the laws will remain unchanged.   ---   Voting yes does not mean you are hateful. It does not mean you are uninformed. It does not mean homosexuals will be assaulted and harmed. Voting yes will not make our state a bad place to do business, nor leave any child uninsured nor expose any woman to abuse. Voting yes just means you believe marriage is a relationship intended for a man and a woman only and not anything else, and you don't think it is good for society to change that. That is all this vote is about. It is not an unfair discriminatory law either because it applies to everyone equally. Everyone. One man, one woman. Everyone has the same opportunity. All that will be different, if this amendment passes, is that there will be more paperwork to overturn should North Carolinians wish to allow homosexuals to get married at some future date. But that is it. Nothing else. All of the fear tactics and outright lies being used to scare people away from voting yes on this amendment are ridiculous and the facts and logic expose them as such. Everything I have said here is easily confirmed by simple research. If you want to vote so. Its okay to vote yes. I am voting yes.

The difference between Clinton and Nixon

Bill Clinton and Richard Nixon were both liars. When Richard Nixon lied you could tell because he sweat like a horse and stammered like Porky the Pig. In contrast, Bill Clinton could tell the biggest lies and neither form a drop of sweat nor fumble a word. The big difference is that Old Bill is a pathological liar. That's why Bill Jefferson (or as his friends call him, B.J.) Clinton can tell whoppers like this:

"What it will change is North Carolina’s ability to keep good businesses, attract new jobs, and attract and keep talented entrepreneurs."

"Its passage will also take away health insurance from children and could even take away domestic violence protections from women."

From the Governor of a State with a Marriage Amendment

Given that Clinton was the Governor of Arkansas, and his state passed a Marriage Amendement by 75% of the popular vote, Who is he to come meddle in North Carolina and say that his state was wrong?

Why does anyone care what the former Philanderer in chief says?

Go see Jimmah Carter. I'm sure you two have a lot to talk about.

I'd rather get a robo call from Monica Lewinsky

Seriously, who is Bill Clinton to call anyone about a marriage issue?
