Joe Biden attacked John McCain in Charlotte Sunday.
The Democratic vice presidential candidate ridiculed McCain's comments on the economy and refuted attacks on Barack Obama's positions as "malarkey."
He told around 1,200 people at Charlotte's Phillip O. Berry Academy that McCain "just doesn't get it."
He mocked McCain's statement that the economy had progressed.
"I could walk from here to Greensboro," he said. "I wouldn't run into one person who thought we'd made economic progress unless I ran into John McCain."
Biden's visit was the first to North Carolina by any of the major candidates since the conventions. It underscored the campaign's effort to make North Carolina a battleground. (Char-O)
In response, the McCain campaign held a conference call with U.S. Rep. Virginia Foxx.

Re: Biden rips McCain in Charlotte
More he-said/she-said spinelessness from the Dome. Biden described McCain's attacks on Obama as "malarkey" because they are, indeed, malarkey. As a reporter, you are allowed to say as much (albeit in a nicer way, obviously).
When politicians consistently lie, it's OK to call them liars.
