In another sign that he is interested in challenging Democratic Sen. Kay Hagan next year, N.C. Senate leader Phil Berger is in Washington today attending the C-PAC conference.
The Conservative Political Action Conference is a major gathering of conservative activists and groups from around the country. It allows political hopefuls such as Berger a chance make make connections needed to run a U.S. Senate race.
Berger has said he is looking at the race, but has not made a decision. He is among a number of Republicans who said to be considering it including House Speaker Thom Tillis, Congresswoman Renee Ellmers, and Labor Commissioner Cherie Berry.
