What would you like to ask Barack Obama?
The Democratic presidential candidate is planning to visit North Carolina this week. We still don't have details on his visit, but we hope to get a chance to ask him some questions about issues of concern to North Carolina voters. We'll try to do the same when Hillary Clinton visits.
That's where you come in. We'd like to hear what you would ask if you had a chance. If we get a chance, we may ask your question. We'll publish the results in the paper and on the blog.
You can either:
- Post your question below. If we want to publish your question - and Obama's answer - we'll be in touch by e-mail to get some identifying information (actual name, age, where you live, what you do for a living).
- Send an e-mail to dome@newsobserver.com. That will enable you to preserve the privacy of your online identity while allowing us to publish your question (with all the identifying information) in the paper.

Re: Any questions for Obama?
Sen. Obama,
If elected, will you fill government posts with *qualified individuals* instead of friends/cronies, people who donated to your campaign, or "important" people who need a job? Qualified people, instead of ceremonial appointments, might make our government function better.
(Witness the FEMA/Michael Brown debacle in Bush's presidency and countless others in that of Clinton)
