Re: Alliance's 'Raise' ad on McCrory

This ad disgusts me. Anyone can see that they raised the size of the buildings in the back to make them look like the world trade center and have a hazy background to recreate the smoke. This ad was cleary made with the object of creating fear by using the worst attack on American soil in history to try and get people to vote against Pat McCrory. They should be ashamed of themselves and Bev Perdue should immediately demand that they take it down.

Re: Charlotte crime rate

According to bestplaces.com, on a scale of 1-10 Charlotte scored an 8 on violent crime, and a 7 on property crime. Raleigh, scored a 5 on violent crime and a 6 on property crime. Durham scored a 7 on both. Charlotte has a lot of crime, too bad the city and county won't pony up any money to hire enough law enforcement.

Re: Alliance's 'Raise' ad on McCrory

I post all advertisements that run in North Carolina TV. When they make provable claims, I then blog about the facts behind them and write a Claims Department fact check. The initial post is not meant as an endorsement of the ad's message.

Charlotte crime rate

Charlotte has a crime rate about double that of Raleigh. We don't need that kind of change in Raleigh.

Re: Alliance's 'Raise' ad on McCrory

Ryan,

If this ad is false? Why do you put it up here on your blog? Do you support false advertisements by 3rd party groups without rebuttal?

Re: Alliance's 'Raise' ad on McCrory

Um, the blame for the lack of police and fire funding goes to the Democrats that dominate Charlotte's city council. It's been like pulling teeth to get those jerks to do their job in that area and provide the funds for a few more DAs. McCrory isn't perfect on this, but even if he were, the set-up of government in Charlotte doesn't provide him with a way to do much of anything about it.

Re: Alliance's 'Raise' ad on McCrory

This ad is false. How many times have papers said pay raise is bogus.

Hopefully the McCrory campaign will file complaints like Perdue and get it taken down.
