Sun shines on refunds, not SBI

Those refunds are coming — eventually: Revenue Secretary David Hoyle says his department has cleared up a backlog of flagged tax returns. Now they just need the legislature to free up some money to make refunds. (N&O)

Status update: Gov. Perdue is scheduled to be in Fayetteville today to meet with veterans today while Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton is in Forest City for an economic development announcement. Word is a "well-known" company will build a data center to take advantage of tax incentives lawmakers passed last summer. The announcement comes at 11:30 this morning. (N&O)

Where's the sun?:  Attorney General Roy Cooper was a champion of open government when he was in the General Assembly and the Department of Justice. Now? Not so much. (N&O)
