The Raleigh Soup is off the menu for those not on the guest list.

The insider gossip blog has blocked the general public, requiring an invite from the anonymous bloggers to get inside.

The Soup made jabs at figures on the Raleigh political scene, including Eddie Davis, and took more than a few pokes at Beverly Perdue.

But the blog also had a decent track record, regularly beating the Magic Eight Ball on rumors and predictions.

Soup cold for Perdue?

Beverly Perdue might want to send The Raleigh Soup back to the chef.

The anonymous political blog appears to be written by Democratic insiders who can't get enough of negative stories about the lieutenant governor.

Since the blog set up shop in mid-August, it's written about Perdue's gubernatorial campaign 19 times. By Dome's count, 13 of those have been negative.

Some of that can be attributed to the site's snarky tone, which is spread pretty evenly across the political spectrum. But many of the posts have followed the Richard Moore campaign's attacks on Perdue pretty closely, including four separate items on the controversy over her resume.

Students for Bill Graham is fighting back on Facebook.

After a blogger on The Raleigh Soup noted that the Salisbury attorney's group on the popular social networking site was behind Republican competitor Sen. Fred Smith, a Graham supporter sent out an all-points bulletin.

Unfortunately, it left a little to be desired in the way of regular English:

Hey guys I have attached a recent Blog made my "The Soup". Apparently the Students for Bill Graham Facebook Group is lacking in members. So invite anyone to join that you can think of. I can't do it, you can't do it, but together WE can when the facebook primary.

We can't say if Graham will "when" or not, but the group recently added four members.
