One of the best is a $2.50 mail-in rebate when you buy the Merry Madagascar DVD and any Kraft product (since there were coupons on Nov. 15 for some Kraft items, that could be a great deal!)

You can also fill out a pledge to put a note in your child's lunch box and Kraft will donate a meal to a child in need.

I do have to say, these make really super gifts for people. And they are fun to make.

The offer brings the prices of smaller books down to about $10 and larger books are $16 or $24, depending on the size. And the largest 12" by 12" book is $44.

TGI Friday's has announced a holiday appetizer deal that will run today through Dec. 23.

600 Friday's restaurants will offer eight half-price appetizers in the bar after 4 p.m. upon request. That's a good deal for the appetizers, which normally range from $6 to $11 apiece.

Here's the list: Sesame Jack Chicken Strips, Tuscan Spinach Dip, Fried Mozzarella, Pot Stickers, Crispy Green Bean Fries, Loaded Potato Skins, Friday's Tostada Nachos and Buffalo Wings.

Wow, here's a great offer from 1-800-FLOWERS.com.

Sign up for the company's Fresh Rewards online club. Then set up 10 event reminders, like birthdays, anniversaries and such. For each reminder, you get 40 Fresh Rewards points, with a maximum of 400. BUT when you reach 400 points, you get e-mailed a $40 certificate for use on the site!

I'm told it takes a few days to get the certificate, so it's not instantaneous. And I am sure that you will receive e-mails around the dates of your alerts, so be sure to use an e-mail address you don't mind using. The offer is good through the end of the month.

Recycle your holiday lights for LEDs...

If you've been thinking about trading in your old traditional holiday lights for a more energy-efficient model, here are two ways to make the transition cost less.

From Nov. 5 to Nov. 15, Home Depot will offer customers a $3 credit toward the purchase of LED lights for each string of old incandescent lights they bring in. Limit 5 per customer. Here's the link with all the details.

Or, there's a company called HolidayLEDs.com that is offering a 15 percent off coupon for anyone who sends in their old lights for recycling. Anyone in the U.S. or Canada can submit for the coupon and there is no minimum submission required. However, HolidayLEDs.com is asking participants to try and find a local recycling solution first or at least consolidate shipments with friends, neighbors, church groups, co-workers or other groups in an effort to maximize the environmental benefit of the program.

The Web site says it's the first 25,000 people, and since the promotion involves Fandango, I'm guessing there will be some sort of online form required. But hey, that's a great deal considering the price of a movie ticket nowadays!

Be on the lookout for cheap Halloween candy (if you didn't get enough yesterday, that is).

Most retailers will start their clearance at 50 percent off and work their way up from there. Of course you have to do that delicate balancing act of waiting until the discount is high but the candy you want is still in stock. If you're shopping Target, remember that there are some printable coupons on the Target Web site that could help you score a bigger discount.
