The political arm of the the N.C. Black Leadership Caucus is hosting an event this evening in conjunction with the group's annual meeting in Greensboro.
Democratic Lt. Gov. Walter Dalton will speak to the caucus' political action committee at the event, pitched as an "Old Down-Home-Style Pig Pickin' and an Old Style Carolina Stump Meeting." Event tickets cost $20.
On Saturday, the nonprofit foundation will hold its annual conference at the Koury Convention Center. It features discussions about healthcare and housing issues and includes a get-out-the-vote panel. The keynote speaker at the evening banquet is U.S. Rep. G.K. Butterfield, pictured above, who represents North Carolina's 1st Congressional District.
