David Rouzer considering another Congressional bid that would start soon

The 2014 talk is starting and it's not just focused on which Republican will challenge Democratic U.S. Sen. Kay Hagan.

Republican David Rouzer is looking at another run at U.S. Rep. Mike McIntyre's seat in the 7th Congressional District. Rouzer lost by 650 votes in a prolonged recount in November, the closest race in the nation, he said. McIntyre was the only Democrat to win a highly contested seat that received national attention.

McIntyre-Rouzer race ranks among most expensive in nation

The 7th District congressional race between Democrat Mike McIntyre and Republican David Rouzer ranks No. 5 among the most expensive House races in the nation.

As detailed in a Politico report, the outside spending from GOP groups to unseat the incumbent is running up the tab, bringing total spending in the race to $3 million.

Democratic Congressman McIntyre's TV ad labels him 'a strong conservative'

Mike McIntyre is a Democrat. But you wouldn't know if from his latest TV ad running in the Raleigh market. The ad features Kay Carroll, a Smithfield pharmacist, who calls McIntyre "a strong conservative." Those are the words his GOP rival David Rouzer emphasized to win the Republican primary earlier this year.

N.C. Democratic congressman declines to endorse President Obama

Locked in a tough race, Democratic Congressman Mike McIntrye is refusing to endorse his party leader, President Barack Obama.

McIntrye told WECT-TV that he is not endorsing a presidential candidate.

"We've always been steadfast in our work for eastern North Carolina and I'm grateful because we've had Republican and Democratic friends who have supported us because they know my heart is there and it's not about a party agenda or any other person's agenda," said McIntyre, according to the Wilmington NBC affiliate. "Our focus is on the congressional race in eastern North Carolina."

David Rouzer debuts TV ad in GOP primary, attacks Obama

Republican David Rouzer sticks to a tried-and-true formula for his first television ad in his congressional campaign: attack President Barack Obama.

Rouzer, a state senator running in the 7th Congressional District, is airing the ad in the Wilmington TV market, his campaign said. His aides called it a "strong buy" but refused to release any details, making it difficult to gauge the ad's effectiveness.
