President Barack Obama's national campaign manager Jim Messina said Democratic Gov. Bev Perdue did not consult with the White House before abandoning her re-election bid.
Messina made the remark in a wide-randing interview with The Charlotte Observer's Tim Funk. The Obama operative also discussed strategy about the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte and the 2012 presidential campaign. Read exerpts from Funk's interview with Messina below.
