North Carolina residents are evenly divided on their views of the Occupy Wall Street Movement according to a new poll.
Of those familiar with the movement,m 45 percent hold an unfavorable opinion and 45 percent hold a favorable opinion, according to the latest Elon Univeristy Poll.
Thirty-two percent view themselves of supporters of the movement that is protesting the excesses of banks and big business, while 26 percent consider themselves opponents.
Tar Heel residents are also divided about the Tea Party movement, the survey found.
Forty-two percent said they have a favorable opinion of the Tea Party movement and 46 percent have an unfavorable opinion. Three out of ten respondents consider themselves opponents of the Tea Party and nearly that many consider themselves supporters.
The poll of 529 North Carolina residents – not voters – was conducted Oct. 31-Nov. 2 and had a margin of error of plus or minus 4.2 percent.
