Wednesday Deals are up!

It's a big week for sales on picnic items as retailers try to get us in the mood for summer. Lucky for us, there are lots of coupons to match up with those sales. Think ice cream, condiments, hot dogs and sunscreen.

It's also worth noting the abundance of Buy-One-Get-One deals at Food Lion, Harris Teeter and Lowes Foods.

I especially like the sweet corn deal at Food Lion (6/$1), the blueberry deal at Aldi ($1.19/pint), the 50-cent Goldfish crackers at Lowes Foods, the 88-cent Cool Whip at Kroger and the 99-cent-a-pound split chicken breasts at Harris Teeter.

At Lowes Foods (These prices good through Tuesday, May 31):

The e-rewards deal this week is Nabisco snack crackers (7-10 oz) for $1.48 each. Limit 3. If Ritz products are included in this special, print this IP coupon here to save $1 off 2. Remember you must sign up on the Lowes Foods website to get these deals.

Goldfish crackers are BOGO. $2.39 - two .35/1 coupons = 50 cents each after coupon is doubled. Print IP coupon here.

Oscar Mayer regular or beef franks are BOGO. $3.99 - $1/2 coupon from the 5/15 Smart Source = $1.50 each.

Breyers ice cream is BOGO. $6 - .75/2 (on Breyers Blasts variety) from the 5/22 Red Plum = $2.25 each after coupon is doubled.

Lloyd's pulled bbq BOGO. $7.49  -  two $1/1 coupons from the 5/15 Smart Source = $2.75 each.
Heinz ketchup (40 oz) $2 - .50/1 coupon from the 5/22 Smart Source = $1 after coupon is doubled.
Ken's salad dressing (16 oz) BOGO. $3.59 - $1/2 coupon from the 5/8 Smart Source = $1.30 each.

Pepsi brand 12-packs are 5 for $12, making them $2.40 each. Must buy all 5 to get deal.

Baby back pork ribs are $2.99 per pound.

Buy 2 Get 3 Kraft cheese shredded or cubed.

12-count cookies from the bakery. $3.49 for two.

Kraft bbq sauce (18 oz) BOGO. (Sadly, the coupon out right now is for a larger size.)

At Harris Teeter (prices good through Tuesday, May 31):

The e-Vic offer this week is Klondike Ice Cream Bars (6-ct) for $1.97. The folks over at Hot Coupon World say there is a 50-cent tear pad coupon on these but I haven't seen it. (If any of you have spotted these in the Triangle, do tell in the comments section.) And remember you must have signed up on the Harris Teeter website to get the e-Vic deals.

Ball Park Beef Franks BOGO. Use the .75/2 from the 3/27 Red Plum (expires today) or the .75/2 from the 5/1 Red Plum. If the sale includes the Deli Style hot dogs, use the .75/1 from 5/1 for an even better deal.

Fresh split chicken breasts 99 cents per pound. A decent price, though I do love it when I can find these for 88 cents a pound.

Smithfield Pork Baby Back Ribs $2.99 per pound.

Cherries $3.99 per pound. A good price for this early in the season.

Georgia peaches $1.49 per pound.

Store-brand cooking spray $1.27. A great price.

Capri Sun juice pouches $1.77.

Cool Whip 99 cents. A good price, though Kroger's price is 88 cents when you buy 10 items in its frozen food deal.

Boca Burgers are 2/$6.

At Food Lion this week (prices good through Tuesday, May 31):

Southeastern peaches are $1.29 per pound. The lowest price I found.

Sweet corn is 6/$1, another low price of the week.

Seedless watermelon are $3.99 each.

Pork spare ribs are $1.99, the lowest price around that I can tell.

Store-brand chicken snack wings are BOGO for a 2.5-pound bag.

Holly Farms boneless chicken breasts are $1.77 per pound. An excellent price for boneless.

Ball Park Franks are BOGO - Use the .75/2 from the 3/27 Red Plum (expires today) or the .75/2 from the 5/1 Red Plum. If the sale includes the Deli Style hot dogs, use the .75/1 from 5/1 for an even better deal.

Pair the hot dogs with 79-cent store-brand buns. A great price.

Store-brand shredded or chunk cheese (8 oz) or American singles (12 oz) $1.50 each. A great price.

Store-brand canned veggies (14.5-15.75 oz.) are 50 cents each. Select varieties.

Breyers ice cream is $1.99 -- the cheapest price of the week. If you use the .75/2 on the Breyers Blasts varieties from the 5/22 Red Plum, you'll pay $1.62 each.

Heinz ketchup is BOGO - the .50/1 coupon from the 5/22 Smart Source.

Ronzoni pastas are BOGO on select varieties. There are coupons on the Garden Delight and Quick Cook varieties from the 5/15 and 4/10 Smart Source inserts that might work.

Ritz crackers are BOGO. The $1/2 IP coupon is available here.

Ken's salad dressings are BOGO - $1/2 coupon from the 5/8 Smart Source insert.

Kraft Macaroni and Cheese Dinners are 69 cents each.

Minute Maid Lemonde or Fruit Punch is 88 cents. Also a great price, beating Walmart's $1 price.

At Aldi stores this week (prices good through Tuesday, May 31):

Great prices on produce this week:

Cantaloupe are 99 cents each.

Seedless watermelon are $3.29.

Blueberries are $1.19 for a pint.

Strawberries are $1.49 for 16 oz.

At Kroger stores this week (prices good through Saturday, May 28):

Coca-Cola 12-packs are 5/$12 when you buy 5. Limit 5. That works out to $2.40/pack, which is a  good deal.

Or, if you prefer Pepsi, buy 6 two-liter bottles for 84 cents each. You must buy six for this deal.

Oscar Mayer Wieners are 99 cents. Limit 4. Use the $1/2 coupon from the 5/15 Smart Source to make those 50 cents a pack. Great stock-up price for summer picnics.

Put those dogs on Kroger brand buns, which are $1 this week. Be sure to look for markdowns. My store in Apex seems to always have clearance packages for 39 cents to 59 cents each.

Add Heinz ketchup at $1.99, but use the .50/1 coupon, which will double, and the ketchup will only cost you a buck.

Sweet Baby Ray's barbecue sauce is $1. Buy 2 and use the $1/2 coupon from the 5/22 Smart Source to get them for 50 cents each. Also a great stock-up price for the summer.

Vadalia sweet onions are 29 cents per pound.

Red cherries are $3.99 per pound, which is pretty cheap for this early in the year. The cheapest I can recall from last year was $2.99 per pound.

Tyson split chicken breasts are 99 cents per pound, a decent deal, though I love to buy them at 88 cents per pound.

Ragu pasta sauces are $1.66 a jar. Use the $1.25/3 coupon from the 5/22 Red Plum to get 3 for $3.75.

Blue Bonnet margarine is 69 cents per package.

Huggies diapers are $8.99 a pack. Buy $15 worth and get a coupon for $3 off your next order. Match this deal with the Huggies coupons from the 5/15 Smart Source to maximize your savings.

Kroger is also continuing its frozen food sale that gives you $5 off your order instantly when you purchase 10 eligible items. Some of my favorites (after the discount) are the Green Giant veggies for 99 cents, Cool Whip for 89 cents a tub (a stock-up price in my book) and Dove ice cream bars for $2.99. There's a GG veggie coupon for .60/3 from the 4/17 Smart Source  and a $1/1 for Dove ice cream from the 5/1 Red Plum. Check your store for a full list of items included in this promotion.

At Walmart stores this week (prices good through 
Saturday, May28):

Large packs of boneless skinless chicken breasts are $1.88 per pound.

French's yellow or spicy brown mustard (18-20 oz) are $1.37 each.

Minute Maid lemonade and Tropicana fruit punch are $1. A good price, though Food Lion has these for 88 cents.

Coppertone Continuous Spray sunscreen is $9.88. Use the $1 coupon from the 5/22 Smart Source.

Banana Boat sunscreen is $5.82. Then subtract the $1 coupon from the 5/22 Smart Source to make that a very good deal.

At Walgreens this week (good through Saturday, May 28):

Scunci No Damage Hair Elastics are FREE after $2 Register Reward. 

Complete Multi-Purpose Solution is FREE after $7.99 Register Reward.

Walgreens brand TRUE2go blood glucose monitor is FREE after mail-in rebate.

Carefree Pantiliners are FREE after in-ad coupon and $1 coupon from the 5/8 Smart Source insert.

Other Walgreens deals:

Select varieties of General Mills cereals are $1.99. Use GM coupons from 5/1 and 5/22 Smart Source inserts to make that a better deal.

Charmin Basic Bathroom Tissue is $2.99 with in-ad coupon.

Photo cards are 50 percent off with in-ad coupon. Think graduation announcements.

Coppertone Suncare is $5.99 after $3 Register Reward and $1 coupon from 5/22's Red Plum insert.

Store-brand sun-care products are on sale buy 1, get 1 50 percent off.

At Rite Aid this week (good through Saturday, May 28):

There are lots of BOGO deals, including:

L.A. Looks gel, No-Ad  sunscreen, select Dentyne, Trident, Extra, Wrigley, Bubble Tape and Bubblicious gums, store-brand facial tissue, Dixie or Vanity Fair paper products, select store-brand allergy medicines and store-brand first-aid products.

Coca-Cola 12-packs are 3/7.99 after +Up. That's $2.66 a pack, which is a decent deal. But Kroger is cheaper at 5/$12.

Suave products are 4/$7 after $3 +UP reward. Sweeten that deal with the Suave coupons from 5/22's Red Plum insert.

Buy $25 in Banana Boat or Hawaiian Tropic sun care products and get $10 in +UP rewards.  There are $1 coupons on both brands in the 5/22 Smart Source insert.

Buy 5 Colgate toothpastes, toothbrush and wisps, Softsoap liquid handsoap or Palmolive dish soap (any combination), and get $1 +UP reward. Colgate coupons from the 5/15 and 5/22 Smart Source inserts might work on this deal if the Proclinical or Sensitive varieties are included.

Buy $25 in various Playtex and Schick products and get $10 in +UP rewards. This week at CVS (good through Saturday, May 28):

I have to say the most enticing deal of the week at CVS has to be the kick-off of its summer-long free gas promotion. You can read all the details here, but basically, if you spend $30 a week on designated products, you earn a coupon for a $10 gas card. It's my understanding you can earn one every week of the 15-week promotion. That's a potential for $150 in free gas. Not bad if the designated products are already on your shopping list and you have coupons to bring your out-of-pocket expense down.

Other deals at CVS this week:

Trident Vitality or Stride Spark gum is .99 but FREE after Extra Bucks. Limit 1.

Revlon Nail polish is $4.99 but FREE after $4 in Easy Bucks and the $1 coupon from the 4/10 Smart Source. There's a limit of 6 on this deal so that's a lot of free nail polish if you have a stash of those coupons.

Coca-Cola brand 12-packs are buy 3, get 1 free, which ends up being 4/$10. Limit 4. An OK deal, though Kroger has a better deal at 5/$12.

Purex laundry detergent is $1.98. Limit 4. Use the $1 coupon from the 5/1 Red Plum to bring the price down to 98 cents.

Spend $10 on selected Suave products and get $3 in Extra Bucks. Use the Suave coupons from the 5/22 Red Plum insert and save even more.

Buy two iTunes gift cards and get $5 in Extra Bucks. If you give these as gifts or regularly buy music for yourself, this is a good deal.

Buy two Coppertone Suncare products and get $8 in Extra Bucks. Use the $1 coupon from the 5/22 Red Plum to save even more.

Store-brand  continuous-spray sun-care products are 2/$12.

Sweet corn is 4/$1. Not a bad deal but Food Lion has a better price.

Doritos are 2/$4. Also a pretty decent deal.

Coppertone lotion (8 oz.) is $6.49 - $1/1 coupon from the 5/22 Red Plum insert.

Pepsi 12-packs are $3 each. Not a bad price if you're running low, but if you're not brand loyal, Kroger has a better deal on Coke 12-packs for $2.40.

Pepperidge Farm hamburger or hot dog buns are $1.99. Use the .30/1 coupon from the 5/15 Smart Source to save a little more.

There's a gift card deal on Pampers and Huggies diapers. Buy two large boxes for $29.99 each and get a $10 Target gift card. There were a bunch of Pampers coupons in the 5/1 P&G insert, along with a Target coupon ($5 off when you buy diapers and wipes) released in the Red Plum that same week. Multiple Huggies coupons were in the 5/15 Smart Source insert.
