Wednesday deals...

Well it’s an OK deals week out there if you are willing to do a little work. There are several items that are free or almost free after rebate or after coupon and rebate. This is a good week to stock up on juice and also on canned goods like soup. Make sure to read carefully as some coupons expire before the end of the week!

Deal of the week: I think rather than go with one deal this week, I’m just going to give the nod to Rite Aid, which has almost a dozen products that are FREE after rebate this week. Be sure to check out the deals in this week’s sale flier. Most of them are medicine things for cold and cough, so this would be a great chance to stock up for free, especially if you have kids.

Click “Read more” to see the list! And remember, if the store has a loyalty card, you’ll need it to get the sale price.

At Lowes Foods (These prices good through Tuesday, Oct. 20):

*Lowes continues to heavily promote its new Fresh Rewards loyalty program this week. Fresh Rewards are coupons that will spit out at the register when you make a qualifying purchase and are good on your next order. At Kroger stores this week (prices good through Saturday, Oct. 17):

*Kroger has a weird deal but one that may work if you’re in the market for a crock pot. Buy a Rival crockpot worth $24.50 or more and receive one pound of Kroger ground beef, one packet of McCormick chili seasoning, one box of Zesta saltines and a 2 oz. Tabasco sauce free. There’s a Rival crockpot on sale for $39.99 with a $10 instant discount when you scan your Kroger card and a $5 mail-in rebate. So net total, you’d pay $24.99 for your crock pot and then get the chili fixins for free.

*There’s also another Mega sale where you get $5 off at the register when you buy 10 qualifying items. There aren’t a ton of good matchups but the winner is the Green Giant Valley Fresh steamers. If you had 10 of those 40-cent coupons from Oct. 4 and then bought only those, you’d wind up paying $6.90 for 10, which is not bad (though sometimes you could do better).
