Re: Triples deal list Nov. 4-Nov. 10...

Angie, no those are called "catalina" coupons and they will not double or triple. Long explanation, but basically it's a different kind of coupon even though it says manufaturer's coupon

Re: Triples deal list Nov. 4-Nov. 10...

Hi Sue,
I just checked with my local HT about 'overages' and found out exactly what you said- the register will honor the coupon for the price of the item. For instance, if I have a 75 cent coupon for an item on sale for 2.19, the register will ring it 75, 75, 69.

An extra heads-up to anyone who may be coming to the beach: HT here (Morehead City) is doing triple coupons for an indefinite period of time. Has been going on for several months now and the employees tell me it's not stopping anytime soon :^)

Re: Triples deal list Nov. 4-Nov. 10...

Thanks for the heads-up about BOGO coupons, Sue! This is my first time putting a lot of effort into tripling, so I'm not up to speed on everything yet.

What about the coupons that are spit out at the register? I got a great one for bread (Arnold, I think) - 55 cents off of one - will that triple? It says "manufacturer coupon" on it, but I wasn't sure if those coupons were handled differently. Thanks in advance!

Re: Triples deal list Nov. 4-Nov. 10...

Just remember for the Carnation evaporated milk to be free at Kroger, you must buy a total of 10 participating items, since the Carnation milk is part of the $5/10 participating items promo.

Re: Triples deal list Nov. 4-Nov. 10...

At HT, and pretty much any store, BOGO coupons and coupons for free items don't triple. So you would get the free item for free still (great!) but no triple of that value.

Re: Triples deal list Nov. 4-Nov. 10...

How does HT handle BOGO coupons during triples week? I have a Beechnut baby food coupon that is BOGO, up to 98 cents. Does that mean if I purchase three jars of baby food for 98 cents each (assuming that is their regular price), that I will get them for free since that would make the value of the coupon 98 cents X3?

I hope that makes sense.

Re: Triples deal list Nov. 4-Nov. 10...

That's called an overage. And most registers will double the coupon UP TO the amount of the item... so it would be free, but you wouldn't receive extra credit, so to speak. I've never heard of a store completely not honoring a coupon during triples because the tripled value makes the item free...

Re: Triples deal list Nov. 4-Nov. 10...

I found out last time that there was a Triple Week at HT that they will not triple a coupon if it makes that item more than free. Meaning, if you have a .75 cent coupon and the product is 1.89 - they won't honor it because they would essentially be paying you to buy it (you would save 2.25 on a 1.89 product).

Bummed me out.

Take Care and thanks for all your hard work Sue!

Re: Triples deal list Nov. 4-Nov. 10...

Not inappropriate at all!

Re: Triples deal list Nov. 4-Nov. 10...

FYI,

If you are planning to go to Kroger and do the $5 off when you buy 10 participating items, you can get the Carnation Evap. milk for free and not have to use one of your 20 triples at HT for it. The milk is $.49 a can after the discount is divided out, then the $.50 off 2 coupon doubles to make both cans free.

(sorry if this is an inappropriate comment, I just thought I'd pass along the hint because I'm always trying to save triples for deals I couldn't get anywhere else).
