In general, I think programs where you trade in something you have for store credit can be helpful. But often I feel like the item I traded in wasn't really valued fairly. You might be able to get a fair trade-in value on your old golf clubs right now at Golfsmith, where they are hosting "National Trade In Days" through April 27.
During the promotion, Golfsmith will add 30 percent to the regular value of your trade-in. With things like golf clubs, that could definitely be some real money. The fine print on the offer says that certain clubs don't qualify and that you have to be ready to make a purchase that day of $250 or more or you don't get the 30 percent bonus. To see if your clubs qualify and what they'd be worth, you can check out this Web site.

Re: Trade in your clubs...
Staples has a deal going right now where they give you $50 for a traded-in printer towards a new one. Brings some of the lasers in the $50 range.
