This year's sales tax holiday is coming up!

It will run from 12:01 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1 through 11:59 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 3.

Online purchases that fit the dollar criteria are tax-free as well per the NC statute on the Department of Revenue webpage. I ordered sneakers and other clothes and called the vendor to find out the process. They said that I would have to call once I received the merchandise and that they would credit the tax paid back to my credit card. A little extra work, but worth it if you prefer to clothes-shop online!

Both my sons need labtops for school, so I'm waiting for this weekend. Look under the products section.

Also, I have found in the past, if you look around the dark corners of Sam's Club and Staples, you can find some excellent clearance items.
