Looking for tissue deals for parents...

I got an interesting e-mail from reader Lisa the other day. She said:

"I've got kids in schools and apparently the schools are no longer providing tissues for the classrooms. Parents are asked to send in the tissues. We have also been asked to send in hand sanitizer and wipes."

True enough, judging from what I hear from my friends with school-age kids. So far this week, the best deal I've seen on tissues is at Food Lion. There's a three-day sale starting tomorrow (Friday) at 8 a.m. and Puffs are 79 cents a box. Limit four. There is a 25 cents off three Puffs coupon from the Aug. 2 P&G Brandsaver if you feel like finding it.

Anyone know of any other tissue deals, or deals on things like hand santizer or wipes?

I try to plan ahead with school supplies. For example, I bought my baby wipes this summer during a HT triple coupon and paid pennies for them. I buy my tissue at Costco, so I bought some with the most recent tissue coupon they issued so I'd be well stocked (same with paper towels).

Re: Looking for tissue deals for parents...

Sue, thank you for all the work you do on these posts every week. I live down near Charlotte, and wish we had someone here who did this for us! I can use most of what you post, since the stores don't vary THAT much from there to here on prices... I just wish you had Bi-Lo's or Ingalls up there so I'd see them too... but that might be too much even for you!

Just wanted to let you know your efforts are appreciated... and as far as the tissues, parents might want to consider looking at the cost of the bulk packs to split, or see if they can bring JUST the tissues and let other parents bring different supplies. Also, as my husband reminded me, school is just starting. Classrooms are giving out lists now because this is when most parents are receptive to bring items. If you keep watching sales and get deals later, though, share with the class then. Or, let the teachers know that you'd like to contribute but want to wait until after the first two weeks to see what they need when the dust settles. Just a thought.
