Kroger announced today that it will expand the $4 generic drug program that it launched in March to include 90-day supplies of certain generic drugs for $10. Kroger is also Kroger said it is also expanding the number of women's health medications it offers at a discounted price. Those drugs are available for $9 in 30-day supplies or $24 for a 90-day supply. The move, of course, mirrors the expansion of similar programs from other retailers including Wal-Mart. But I'm not complaining. Competition always benefits the consumer.

May 13, 2008 - 9:37am — dstarrIs there any explanation as to why 'women's health' meds (i.e. birth control) is priced at $9 on a $4 Rx program? I do not understand why this meds are not available at $4. Anyone have any insight?
