If you didn't get your fill of fireworks last night, you have another chance tonight. For the first time, Brier Creek will be putting on a fireworks display, starting at 9 p.m. tonight. The event is free. Recommended viewing areas include Brier Creek Commons, located at Brier Creek Parkway and Highway 70, and Brierdale Shopping Center, located at Brier Creek Parkway and Lumley Road. And the merchants in Brier Creek Commons are hosting a sidewalk sale this weekend, if you feel like getting there early...

Re: Fireworks at Brier Creek...
I am quite disappointed to learn that the fireworks went on at 10 on Sat night. We took our kids, age 2 and 5, out to Brier Creek for the fireworks. We chose Brier Creek because it is closer to where we live, plus I thought it would take less time to get thru any traffic, which can be a nightmare at the fairgrounds fireworks. When they hadn't started by 9:20 or so, we left for home, since it was well past bedtime. We assumed they were rained out and would be rescheduled for Sun, 7/6.
There was no info posted on Brier Creek's website about delaying/waiting until a certain time for the weather to clear, but a rain date was clearly given. How were people supposed to know to wait an hour beyond the scheduled start time?
