Back in March, I wrote about Andy's Burger, Shakes & Fries "Big A" Challenge. Andy's invited customers to come in and attempt to eat this huge burger (50 oz.) plus an order of fries and a 24-ounce drink as fast as they could. The top 10 qualifiers would face off for a $1,000 cash prize and of course, bragging rights.
So the contest finally took place, and the winner was Joe "The Gentleman" Menchetti, a Connecticut man who is not a professional eater but does participate in eating contests frequently. He polished off the whole meal in five minutes and 15 seconds. He calls himself "The Gentleman" because he always wears a tux to such events. Here he is, for those of you who just have to know what he looks like.
And don't worry... if you missed your shot this year, it seems Andy's is going to repeat the event in 2009.

Wow! What an accomplishment! All Americans should be so proud of this gentleman.
(No wonder other countries hate us so.)
