Well, it’s a pretty good deals week out there. The Lowes Foods deals section is huge this week because Lowes put out a new batch of those great store coupons. There are also several FREE after coupon or rebate items, and even some deals where you can combine a BOGO sale and a BOGO coupon to make it a buy one get TWO free.
Also, be careful to watch the expiration dates on your coupons this week, since a whole bunch of them expire today. In fact, if you have time to go through your coupons today to make sure you didn’t miss any you wanted to use, that might not be a bad idea.
Happy shopping!
Deal of the week: I think I’ve got to go with the Eggo waffles deal at Harris Teeter this week. The waffles are on sale for the very decent price of 99 cents a box, but there is also a 55-cent coupon from April 6. At Harris Teeter, that will double, making the waffles totally FREE!

My husband just asked me, “What are you doing?”
And I said, “It’s Wednesday. There are deals to be had.”
And so there are… It’s a pretty decent deals week out there. There are a lot of free after rebate items, especially at the pharmacies. This is the final week of the big cosmetics sale at CVS, and Harris Teeter is running some of those special buy one, get TWO free promotions.
Happy shopping….
Deal of the week: This week, I think I’ll go with the Advil PM deal at Rite Aid. The Advil PM is $3.99 for the 16 to 20-count bottles. Then there’s a $3 Single Check Rebate. If you have the $1 coupon from March 9, that makes it FREE. And if not, look for the 75-cent coupon from Jan. 27, which would make it almost FREE!

Well, it’s just an OK deals week out there. Because Earth Day is coming up, a lot of stores have devoted a lot of space to their organic and natural products. That’s certainly not a bad thing, but (as many of you know) there are fewer coupons for those kinds of items. That being said, if you are interested in natural and organic products, check out the sales fliers carefully this week. There are lots and lots of those items for sale, so it could be a good time to stock up.
Otherwise, there’s the usual array of cheap razors and toothpaste, and there are some good seasonal produce deals this week.
Deal of the week: It was honestly hard to find a really good one this week. But I think I’ll go with the Arnold bread deal at Harris Teeter. The bread is BOGO (buy one get one free), and there was that 55-cent coupon for the Whole Grains bread on Feb. 17. That will double and should make that bread pretty cheap, less than a dollar, I think.

Well, it’s a pretty decent deals week out there. There are plenty of free after rebate items, and there’s a crazy sale at Harris Teeter where you buy two at full price and get THREE free. Kroger’s special sale where you get $5 off when you buy 10 qualifying items continues, and the pharmacies have big sales on beauty items this week. It could be a great opportunity to stock up!
Deal of the week: I think this week I like the Huggies deal at CVS. Huggies diapers are $8.99 and there was a $1 coupon on March 16. Also, when you buy $25 worth of baby items on page 16 of this week’s flier, you get $10 ExtraBucks back. So, let’s say you had three of those coupons and bought three packs of diapers. $8.99 times three is $26.97. Minus the $3 in coupons is $23.97. And then subtract the $10 in ExtraBucks and you’ll pay $13.97 for three packs of diapers. That’s $4.66 per package.

Well, it is a really odd deals week. Stores have a lot of unusual sales going on. To me, some of them are overly complicated, but that’s just my opinion.
Other than that, there are still some decent deals out there. One of the best things out there this week is the three-day sale Lowes is having Thursday, Friday and Saturday, where you can get a gallon of milk for (gasp!) $2.99. When was the last time you bought a gallon of milk for under $3?
You need to have the store coupon from this week’s sales flier to get that deal.
The Kroger $5 off 10 qualifying items sale could be a real winner, depending on what you buy (more on that later today). You can also get a four-pack of Cottonelle toilet paper for 49 cents at Kroger this week. And there are a number of free after rebate items at the pharmacies.
Unfortunately, there seem to be a lot of Procter & Gamble items on sale this week, but the next P&G Brandsaver coupon insert hasn’t been issued yet (it will probably come on Sunday). So for now, all of those deals have no matching coupons. You may still be able to scoop one up at Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods or Food Lion, though, because their sales don’t end until Tuesday.
In any case, happy shopping!
Well, it’s kind of a weird week because of the holiday on Tuesday. With the holiday coming on a Tuesday, the grocery stores issued their normal sales fliers. But the pharmacies and other stores switched it up. Some issued short sales or mini-fliers for half the week in this morning’s paper. Others chose not to change last week’s sales. Overall, I think there are probably fewer deals than a usual week. But here are the deals as I know them!
Christmas stuff begins on clearance at 50 percent off in most places today. But those discounts will go as high as 90 percent before the merchandise is taken off shelves. Of course, the longer you wait, the less selection you have.
Oh, and if you need prints made from your digital camera, the going sale price in several stores is 10 cents a copy. I wouldn’t pay any more.
Feel free to add your own deals if I missed something.
Deal of the week: With everyone needing batteries this week because of all those electronic gifts, let’s go with the Duracell deal at Harris Teeter. They’re on sale two for $6, which is already a good price. But there was that 75-cent coupon on Dec. 16, which will double to make it $1.50 a pack.

Let me say up front that things are a little different this week because of the Thanksgiving holiday. As you may have already noticed, there were no fliers for Food Lion, Lowes Foods or Harris Teeter in this morning’s paper. (There was a tiny Lowes one with coupons effective beginning Friday, so be sure to look at that.) So basically that means the deals from last week are still in effect for all those stores. I’ve repeated the list below for your convenience, but if it looks familiar, now you know why. But, there are new deals today for all the pharmacies, Target and Kroger.
And speaking of deals, I thought I would introduce a “Deal of the Week” feature to Wednesday Deals. Basically, I’ll pick one of the best deals and highlight it each week. I just thought it would be something fun to try…
This week, I’ve chosen the Purell Gentle Foam Hand Sanitizer deal at Walgreens. When you combine the store coupon from the EasySaver booklet (which you can get in stores) and the manufacturer’s coupon, the sanitizer is FREE. And, that’s just in time for holiday shopping this weekend. I was interviewing a shopping expert Tuesday, and one of her tips was to carry hand sanitizer with you to the stores and use it. With all the people and all the exchanging of goods and money, she said, you’re very likely to catch a cold. The hand sanitizer can help you ward off the germs. It seemed like good advice to me. (See the Walgreens section below for details on that deal.)

HAPPY THANKSGIVING, EVERYONE!!
Ah, I’ve returned to Wednesday deals — and just in time for Halloween. If you still haven’t bought candy for tonight, it’s on sale just about everywhere. Just make sure you don’t overpay. If I had to, I’d give the nod to Rite Aid, which has Reese’s, M&Ms, Snickers, Butterfingers and Hershey bars (the snack size ones) on sale for $1.99 a bag. If you take the $1 off two bags coupon for Mars candies from Oct. 14, you could pay $2.98 for two bags, which I think is reasonable.
Other than that, there are lots and lots of good FREE after rebate items at the pharmacies this week, so keep an eye out for those. And Lowes Foods is rolling out its new line of pet products called Paws this week. Click “Read More” for the whole list of deals, and remember that if a store has a loyalty card, you’ll need it to get the sale price. (And thank you again to the volunteers who so graciously filled in for me while I was gone.)
Well, it’s a decent deal week out there. Be on the lookout for good deals on candy in the lead up to Halloween, and there is a lot of free-after-rebate toothpaste this week. How’s that for irony?
