Wednesday deals...

Well, it’s a decent deals week out there. If nothing else, there’s triple coupons beginning Thursday at Harris Teeter! (A separate list of triples deals is coming in just a little bit...)

You should also note that the grocery stores continue to compete for your business, touting their value for shoppers. In today’s Lowes Foods flier, the company announced that it has dropped prices on more than 1,000 items in stores. That follows the move by Harris Teeter to drop prices on many items as part of its “unreal deals” campaign.

Competition definitely does benefit the consumer.

Deal of the week: At Harris Teeter this week, Gain laundry detergent is $3.77. There was a 50-cent coupon on Jan. 18 that will double and make that $2.77.

Wednesday deals...

I would say it’s just an OK deals week out there. There are still some good ones, and some items that will be free after rebate or coupon.

The one thing that is on sale everywhere is snack food items. With the Super Bowl coming up, stores are really pushing all of the snack and party items you’d expect them to. If you use these items during the rest of the year, this could be a good time to stock up.

There’s a free after rebate ink cartridge refill this week at Walgreens.

And I should note that Harris Teeter is making another push at the pharmacy business. In its flier this morning, Harris Teeter advertised a deal where you get a $20 credit off your next shopping order when you transfer a prescription to a Harris Teeter pharmacy. For those of you who like to bounce your prescriptions around, there’s another option!

Deal of the week: At Lowes Foods, Eggo waffles are three for $4.98 and there was that 75-cent coupon on Dec. 14. That will double to make those roughly 16 cents a box.

Wednesday deals...

Well, it’s a decent deals week out there, I’d say.

For many stores, the emphasis is still on eating healthy and losing weight.

But there is also a great opportunity this week to stock up on Frito-Lay chips and Pepsi. Many stores are running big promotions on Frito-Lay and Pepsi this week. Some of the pharmacies are even offering instant rebates when you buy a certain amount. Partner that with this mail-in offer from Pepsi and you could have quite a deal. The offer is to get $15 in coupons back by mail when you purchase a certain number of Pepsi products and a certain number of Frito-Lay products. Be sure to read the fine print on that form carefully to make sure you meet all the requirements!

There is also a crazy sale at Kroger, where you get $5 off your order when you buy 10 qualifying products. See the Kroger section to read about the potential match-ups with coupons to make that an even better deal!

Deal of the week: At Rite Aid, Suave shampoo and conditioner are 99 cents, and there was a $2 off three coupon on Jan. 11. That would make it a buy one get TWO free!

Wednesday deals...

It is a very decent deals week out there as manufacturers and stores try to promote value to shoppers.

Read carefully because there are a lot of special deals this week. For instance, there are a few where you get a product free when you buy a second product or make some other qualifying purchase. There are also a lot of really good BOGOs (buy one get one free deals) this week. And there are several items that are FREE after sale, coupon, rebate or some combination of the three.

Also, if you like to move your monthly prescriptions around to get gift cards at the pharmacies, there were new prescription transfer coupons this week in the Sunday fliers for Target, Kmart and Rite Aid. Be sure to clip them if you want them.

Deal of the week: Sometimes the coupons and the sales line up so perfectly that it’s hard to believe. That’s the case at Walgreens this week. Equal 100-count boxes of sweetener packets are $2.50 when you use the store coupon from Sunday’s flier. Then you can also use the $2.50 coupon from the coupon inserts on Jan. 4 and make that totally FREE (except of course for tax, which you will still have to pay).

Wednesday deals...

Well the first week of 2009 is a totally decent deals week! There are plenty of items that are free after coupons and mail-in rebates. Not surprisingly, weight-loss type items are on sale this week, but if you are a fan of Special K cereal, Slim Fast or a particular multivitamin, this is the week to stock up.

Lowes Foods has issued a special set of store coupons with this morning’s flier that you want to be sure to grab, and there are STILL deals to be had on Procter & Gamble products if you are trying to qualify for that $120 coupon booklet before the offer ends at the end of this month.

DEAL OF THE WEEK: In honor of all of you who are trying to lose weight, let’s go to Walgreens this week, where there’s a great deal on Special K cereal. Buy four boxes for $10 and get $3 back in an instant Register Rewards rebate. Then if you have four of the $1 coupons from Dec. 14 or two of the $1 off two coupons from Sunday, that would be a pretty spectacular deal. It will work out to a final cost of four boxes for $3 or $5, depending on which coupons you use.

Wednesday deals...

This is the final Wednesday Deals post for 2008. But don’t worry… I am sure there will be plenty of deals in 2009!

And there is certainly plenty going on this week!

Harris Teeter, of course, is doing triple coupons this week from Jan. 1 (Thursday) through Jan. 4 (Sunday). I will post a deals list very shortly for triples! Plus, there are something like 400 coupons expiring today. But, if you have time to run to the store, you still can use some of them!

This week, you should really look for deals on Procter & Gamble products. There were P&G coupons on Sunday, which match up with a lot of the sales this week. Some stores, including Kroger, Teeter and Walgreens, are even having additional offers on P&G items. This is especially important this month because you can use these purchases to qualify for that $120 P&G coupon book offer. To get that booklet, you must buy $50 in P&G products by the end of January. The details are here.

Wednesday deals...

This is an odd week for Wednesday Deals. Harris Teeter, Food Lion and Lowes Foods all extended their weekly sales longer than usual due to the holiday, with sale prices from last week ending today instead of yesterday. However, all three put fliers in today’s paper with sale prices that will start on FRIDAY. Also, Target’s prices from its Sunday flier end TODAY, so I would expect a new Target flier later this week.

Bottom line: please be careful when you’re reviewing the list below and pay special attention to the dates that sales run this week. They are not the normal sales cycles in many cases.

The pharmacies ARE still on their normal sales schedule, and they are all pushing holiday gifts, wrapping and the like this week. But there are still some good deals that are noteworthy on other items. Also, many of them will be open on Christmas Day if you forgot something or are dying to get started on your post-holiday shopping early.

Deal of the week: At CVS, go score yourself some free Crest Pro Health toothpaste. It’s on sale for $2.99 with a $2 Extra Bucks instant rebate. Then use the $1 coupon on the toothpaste from Nov. 30, and that would be FREE.

Happy holidays, everyone. Here’s to more great deals in 2009!

Wednesday deals...

Well, happy holidays, everyone!

I should note this week that the grocery stores (Harris Teeter, Lowes Foods and Food Lion) all have made the prices in today’s sales fliers good for eight days, through Dec. 24. That means there will be no fliers for those three stores next Wednesday.

Other than that, there are plenty of deals this week. The list really long today!! At the food stores, you’ll find plenty of holiday-related items on sale. If you’re a baker, now would be a good time to stock up on supplies, since there have been many recent coupons for baking items and many of them are on sale this week. And the pharmacies continue to urge you to do your shopping with them. There were special four-day fliers today from Walgreens and Rite Aid, so be sure to check those out as well.

Deal of the week:
I think this week I’m going to go with the Mrs. Smith’s pie deal that’s going on at both Lowe’s Foods and Food Lion. The pies are BOGO and then you can use the $1 off two coupon from Nov. 9. At both stores, that will get you two pies for about $5, which is a fine deal, especially in the week before Christmas.

Wednesday deals...

Well it is a totally decent deals week out there! The grocery stores continue to duke it out by trying to prove how much value they offer to shoppers. That’s good for you and me because it means more discounts!

The pharmacies are also really fighting for your holiday dollars and are offering lots of good deals. There are plenty of good rebate deals and coupon deals this week. Also, be sure to check out the special four-day sale fliers from Walgreens and Rite Aid in today’s paper.

Deal of the week: There’s a killer deal on sports drinks at Rite Aid this week. Buy any 10 Powerade, Vitaminwater or Smartwater and you can use the $5 off coupon from this week’s flier. They are on sale for $1 each this week. So 10 bottles is $10, minus the $5 coupon is $5. That’s already a good deal. But then if you use three of the coupons from this week’s coupon inserts to get a FREE Powerade when you buy two Vitamin Waters, you save an additional $3. That would get you 10 bottles for roughly $2. That’s a killer deal!!!

Wednesday deals...

Well, it’s a mighty fine deals week out there! The pharmacies are busy promoting holiday sales, and Harris Teeter has gone all out to promote its latest initiative involving lower prices on several store brand products and an expanded Unreal Deals selection. There are good deals this week on razors, candy and medications, and there are a few good ones that make the item free after rebate or coupon or both.

And don’t miss the special Walgreens flier in today’s paper, which has a coupon to get $5 in Register Rewards (good like a $5 bill on a future Walgreens purchase) when you spend $25.

Happy shopping!!

Deal of the week
: At Harris Teeter this week, Fiber One toaster pastries are three for $5 and there was a 70-cent coupon on Nov. 16. That will double and make those 27 cents a box.
