Wednesday deals...

With one weekend left between now and Thanksgiving, retailers are pulling out all the stops and putting everything related to Thanksgiving on sale. If you have a big freezer or a second refrigerator, now would be a fantastic time to stock up. Baking items, especially butter, are ridiculously cheap this week. And of course things like turkeys, hams, gravy, rolls and frozen pies are all on sale.

Note that because of the holiday, the normal sale cycles for some grocery stores are a little different this week. The sales in the Lowes Foods and Harris Teeter fliers are good through Thursday the 26th. That means we’ll probably see a little mini-flier from both of them next Friday and then a "regular" flier the following Wednesday. And the sales in the Food Lion flier are good for two full weeks.

One final thought: If you’re afraid all that holiday eating will give you heartburn, this is also a good week to stock up on Prevacid. Just this week, Prevacid became available over the counter and it is on sale everywhere. Partner that with the $4 coupon from Sunday and you have quite a deal.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

Deal of the week: Best price on butter this week is at Kroger, where Kroger brand butter quarters are three for $5. If you’re a brand-specific type of person, you can score Land o Lakes butter for $2 at a lot of stores this week. Remember, butter can be frozen, so go on and stock up. The USDA says it will maintain its quality for two months.

Well it’s an OK deals week out there, especially if you like to bake. Nearly all the grocery stores have baking items on sale this week, from butter to flour. (Remember, you can freeze butter!) It’s a great week to stock up on those things.

We are also beginning to see the sales on Thanksgiving products, including gravy, chicken broth and of course turkeys. If you don’t want to buy everything two days before Thanksgiving, you could start stocking up now.

Deal of the week: This week I’m headed to Rite Aid for the Oral-B CrossAction toothbrush. It’s $2.99 this week but FREE after $2.99 Single Check mail-in rebate. If you have the $1 coupon from Nov. 1, you can make a buck. It’s tough to beat a money maker toothbrush!

Wednesday deals...

Well it’s a totally decent deals week out there. In addition to triple coupons at Harris Teeter all week long, Kroger is back with another really good Mega Sale. And generally speaking, this is a good week to stock up on things like frozen entrees, baking supplies and cheese. There are several deals on those items.

Don’t forget that you definitely save more by shopping at least two stores to sweep up the good deals at each one, and this week is a prime example of how that works. So read carefully and make a list. There are some super deals out there!

DEAL OF THE WEEK: At Lowes Foods, the small cups of Okios yogurt are $1 and if you have the $1 coupon from Oct 4 that would make that FREE. Love that stuff.

Wednesday deals...

This week, I would say it’s an average deal week, with some very big highlights.

I have to mention of course Halloween candy, which is on sale just about everywhere. Please take advantage of the buy one get ones, buy two get ones, and the coupons that are out there. There’s a good $2 Internet printable coupon from Nestle on coupons.com that you can use with some sales to make the candy less than $1 a bag.

There are also some good deals on diapers this week and on some staple items. There are a number of items that are free after coupon or free after coupon and rebate, especially at the pharmacies. And if you have not yet checked out the Kroger Mega Sale this week, it is a really good one.

Deal of the week: I'm going to stick with the Kroger Mega Sale for this week’s deal of the week. The deal is that you get a $5 discount when you buy 10 qualifying items. So that works out to a 50-cent discount on each of your 10 items. Hormel Chili cans are $1.29. Then apply the 50-cent discount and it becomes 79 cents a can. That’s already a good deal. But if you buy three, you can use that great Hormel $2 off three coupon from Oct. 18. And that will make it 37 cents for THREE cans of chili. If you had three of those coupons, you could buy nine cans for $1.11 and then you’d just need one other item to make your 10. (If you have the Bumble Bee tuna pouch coupon from Sept. 13, that will be FREE and would make an excellent 10th item!)

Wednesday deals...

It’s a decent deals week, though you will see a lot of the same items on sale at a number of stores.

Not surprisingly, stores continue to push Halloween candy. But it’s also a good week to stock up on baking mixes, ketchup and more soup if your pantry has any space left. Ice cream is also a good buy this week, with Breyers and a couple of other brands on sale BOGO (buy one get one), and that great 75-cent Breyers coupon from Sunday. And Rite Aid is back this week with another whole page of items that are free after rebate. Be sure to check that out.

Deal of the week: This week I’m going to go to Kroger, where there’s a really good deal involving Post cereals, Nature Valley granola bars and Chex Mix bars. Buy four in one transaction and get $4 off your bill at the checkout. That works out to $1.50 a box. But if you have the Chex Mix bars 50-cent coupon from Sept. 13, you could use one per box and they would double, making your final price 50 cents a box. Likewise you could use the 40-cent Nature Valley coupon from Sept. 13. That would double, making those 70 cents a box.

Wednesday deals...

Well it’s an OK deals week out there if you are willing to do a little work. There are several items that are free or almost free after rebate or after coupon and rebate. This is a good week to stock up on juice and also on canned goods like soup. Make sure to read carefully as some coupons expire before the end of the week!

Deal of the week: I think rather than go with one deal this week, I’m just going to give the nod to Rite Aid, which has almost a dozen products that are FREE after rebate this week. Be sure to check out the deals in this week’s sale flier. Most of them are medicine things for cold and cough, so this would be a great chance to stock up for free, especially if you have kids.

Wednesday deals...

It’s a pretty interesting deals week out there. Lowes Foods introduced its new rewards program today, a program called Fresh Rewards that is replacing Greenpoints. The Harris Teeter buy two get three free ice cream deal is back. And there are also quite a few free or almost free items after coupons and/or rebates at the pharmacies.

Deal of the week: Thanks to the super All laundry detergent coupons on Sunday, there is a killer deal on laundry detergent this week at Food Lion. The 32 load bottles of All are BOGO, $6.45 for two. Since BOGOs ring up at half price at Food Lion, most stores let you use two coupons (though be warned, some stores may not). So with $4 off in coupons, that’s $2.45 for two bottles! That’s 3.8 cents per load! (At regular price that would be 20 cents per load!) I should note that there’s a limit of two free products (ie, a total of four bottles) that you can buy.

This week, think pink and orange. The arrival of fall has brought the annual onslaught of Halloween merchandise and pink products for Breast Cancer Awareness month.

There are lots of deals involving Procter & Gamble this week, which is great timing since we just had a new P&G Brandsaver coupon insert on Sunday.

I should also note that there are more than 200 coupons expiring today, so this is officially your last chance to use them!

Happy shopping, everyone!

Deal of the week: Even though there are half a dozen items that are FREE after Walgreens Register Rewards rebate this week, I have to go with the deal on Fusion razors, which is actually a money maker this week. Buy one razor for $8.99, get a $6 Register Rewards rebate when you check out (good to use on a future order). Then use the $4 coupon from Sunday to MAKE $1.01. Great deal.

Wednesday deals...

The grocery stores have really rolled out the bargains this week, so read your sales fliers carefully. It’s a great week for stocking up.

Harris Teeter has some buy TWO get THREE free deals, including a stellar deal on Progresso soups. Lowes Foods has an amazing money maker on Special K products. Kroger has a buy 10 qualifying items and get $5 off sale. And Food Lion has a number of good BOGOs.At the drug stores, it’s just an OK week, though there are still some good deals on certain products.

Deal of the week: This week, I had to go with the Kellogg’s deal at Lowes Foods, though it will require a little work on your part to get the full deal. There’s a special promotion where you get $5 off your order instantly if you buy any five Special K products in one order. But if you make sure you buy any five items that have the Special K “token” printed on the box, you can send those in to get a $10 rebate in the mail. The cereals and bars are on sale for $2.50. So you could pay $12.50 for your five items and then get $5 off at the register and $10 by rebate. So you’d make $2.50 on that deal!

Well, with Triple Coupons at Harris Teeter and the fall promotions beginning, it’s a pretty exciting deals week.

It’s a really good week to stock up on things like canned soup and frozen entrees if you eat those. They are on sale everywhere, and there were lots of coupons for such items on Sunday.

And there are a couple of really good “Get XX back when you buy XX in qualifying products” type deals this week. Check out the Green Giant and General Mills deals at Harris Teeter and the $5 off when you buy 10 products deal at Kroger. There are lots of good possibilities!

DEAL OF THE WEEK: I really like the deal on Johnson’s baby items at Rite Aid this week, though it will require you to have multiple copies of the $1 coupon from Sunday’s paper. (Ask your friends, you may be able to score some extras…) The baby items are $2.99 and you can use the $1 off coupon from Sunday to make it $1.99. Then if you have multiple coupons, you can cash in on a Single Check Rebate offer. Buy three and get $5 back. Buy five and get $10 back. Or buy 10 and get $15 back. If you bought 10 at $1.99 each and got a $15 rebate, that would mean you paid $4.90 for 10 Johnson’s baby items, which is a fantastic deal.
